How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the project team on a hotel conversion project. You will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of the project, ensuring costs are controlled and financial targets are achieved.

Working closely with the Project Manager and wider site team, you will oversee subcontractor procurement, cost reporting, valuations and final accounts to support the successful delivery of the scheme.

    Key Responsibilities
Manage project costs, budgets, forecasts and monthly commercial reports.
Procure and manage subcontractors, including tendering, negotiations and subcontract agreements.
Prepare and assess interim valuations, payment applications and final accounts.
Manage variations, cost changes and commercial risks.
Monitor project expenditure and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Work closely with the project team to ensure commercial and contractual requirements are met.
Manage costs associated with refurbishment, structural alterations, building services and hotel fit-out works. Requirements
Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contracting environment.
Experience in refurbishment, fit-out, hotel or commercial construction projects.
Strong knowledge of subcontractor procurement, cost control and contract administration.
Good understanding of JCT and/or NEC contracts.
Excellent negotiation, communication and organisational skills.
Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline. The Opportunity
