How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Design Manager

Central London | High-Rise Residential Development

    £75,000 - £90,000 + Package

    About the Company

Our client is a leading main contractor and developer with a strong track record of delivering high-quality residential and mixed-use schemes across London. Due to continued growth and the award of a major residential-led development, they are looking to appoint an experienced Design Manager to join their project team in Central London.

    The Role

Reporting into the Senior Design Manager and Technical Director, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of a large-scale high-density RC frame residential development. The scheme comprises multiple residential buildings, associated commercial space, landscaping, and public realm works.

You will manage the design process from pre-construction through delivery, ensuring information is coordinated, compliant, and issued in line with programme requirements.

    Key Responsibilities

Manage the design process throughout the project lifecycle.

Coordinate architect, structural, MEP, façade, and specialist consultant teams.

Review and manage design information to ensure buildability and compliance.

Chair and contribute to design team meetings.

Monitor consultant performance and manage design deliverables against programme.

Work closely with site, commercial, and planning teams to resolve design issues.

Manage RFIs, technical submissions, design changes, and consultant queries.

Ensure compliance with Building Regulations, planning requirements, and statutory approvals.

Support procurement by ensuring timely production and coordination of design information.

Identify risks and opportunities within the design programme and implement mitigation measures.

Assist with value engineering and design optimisation initiatives.

    Candidate Requirements

Experience working as a Design Manager within the residential, mixed-use, or main contracting sectors.

Strong understanding of high-rise reinforced concrete frame construction.

Experience delivering residential-led developments within London.

Degree or equivalent qualification in Architecture, Construction Management, Architectural Technology, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.

Strong knowledge of current Building Regulations and construction processes.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to manage multiple consultants and design packages simultaneously.

Experience working within a fast-paced project environment
