How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and talented chef to join a high-quality kitchen operation where fresh, locally sourced ingredients, seasonal menus and exceptional guest experiences are at the heart of everything they do.

    Working in a unique and remote setting, you will support the Head Chef in delivering outstanding food with a strong emphasis on provenance, sustainability and simplicity. The role offers the opportunity to work with exceptional local produce, including ingredients sourced from the surrounding coastline and countryside, while contributing to memorable dining experiences for discerning guests.

    From open-fire cooking and outdoor BBQ experiences to relaxed family-style dining and innovative seasonal menus, no two days will necessarily be the same. You will be part of a close-knit, supportive kitchen team that values creativity, collaboration and consistently high standards.

    This position would suit a chef who enjoys working in a more personal, guest-focused environment and is excited by the opportunity to develop their skills in a stunning Highland location.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Support the Head Chef in delivering the culinary vision and maintaining consistently high food standards.

    * Create engaging, interactive dining experiences by presenting dishes to guests, explaining ingredients and preparation methods, and answering questions.

    * Work closely with the Head Chef to review guest preferences ahead of arrival and develop menus that accommodate individual requirements, allergies and dietary or religious needs.

    * Discuss menus with guests on arrival and respond positively and professionally to any last-minute changes or requests.

    * Assist with menu planning, stock management and ordering, taking into account the challenges of working in a remote location.

    * Develop and maintain strong relationships with local suppliers to source high-quality, seasonal and locally produced ingredients.

    * Make effective use of quieter periods to support team development, menu innovation and continuous improvement.

    * Supervise and support Chef de Partie and other kitchen team members, encouraging a collaborative approach and maintaining a positive working environment.

    * Provide support across other venues when required.

    * Uphold high standards of professionalism, teamwork, respect and guest service at all times.

    * Contribute positively to the kitchen culture, supporting colleagues and helping deliver an exceptional overall guest experience.

    About You

    To be successful in this role, you will be a passionate and motivated chef with proven experience as a Sous Chef or an experienced Chef de Partie ready to take the next step.

    Ideally, you will have experience in one or more of the following environments:

    * Fine dining or high-quality hospitality.

    * Private dining or private chef environments.

    * Chef's table experiences or guest-focused dining concepts.

    * Kitchens focused on fresh, seasonal and locally sourced produce.

    You will also demonstrate:

    * A genuine passion for food, ingredients and culinary creativity.

    * Confidence in communicating directly with guests and delivering a personable, professional service.

    * Strong organisational skills and the ability to plan effectively.

    * The ability to lead, motivate and support a kitchen team.

    * A flexible and adaptable approach to changing guest requirements and service demands.

    * An appreciation for the challenges and rewards of working in a remote Highland location.

    * A positive attitude, strong work ethic and commitment to maintaining high standards.

    What's on Offer?

    Alongside a competitive salary and pension, the successful candidate will have access to a range of benefits, including:

    * Private Medical Insurance.

    * Health Cash Plan.

    * Life Assurance.

    * Income Protection Insurance.

    * Critical Illness Insurance.

    * Cycle to Work Scheme.

    * Gym membership following a qualifying period.

    * Online clothing discounts.

    This is an excellent opportunity to join an established hospitality operation offering a distinctive working environment, the chance to work with exceptional produce and the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the guest experience in one of Scotland's most beautiful regions.
