How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

The company offers a supportive and inclusive working environment, with opportunities to develop your skills and build your career within a growing construction business.

    About the role

As Document Controller, you will play a key role in supporting the smooth delivery of construction projects by ensuring all project documentation is accurately managed, distributed and maintained throughout the project lifecycle.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    *

Maintaining accurate document registers, tracking logs, action lists and distribution records.

    *

Ensuring the latest approved drawings and documents are distributed to the relevant project teams, subcontractors, suppliers and clients.

    *

Managing the receipt, issue, revision, filing, scanning and archiving of controlled documentation.

    *

Preparing and issuing electronic transmittals, managing document workflows and maintaining clear audit trails.

    *

Ensuring all documentation complies with company procedures, project protocols, naming conventions and numbering standards.

    *

Supporting document management through to project completion, handover and close-out.

    *

Carrying out quality checks and audits of document databases, metadata and document records, resolving discrepancies where necessary.

    *

Maintaining electronic document management systems and ensuring information is accurate, accessible and securely stored.

    *

Coordinating document control activities across the project team, communicating issues effectively and supporting compliance with established procedures.

    *

Providing administrative support, practical guidance and first-line training to colleagues where required.

    *

Managing hard-copy document masters, project libraries and archives in line with company policies.

    About you

We are looking for an experienced Document Controller with a strong understanding of document management processes within the construction industry.

    Ideally, you will have:

    *

Experience using Viewpoint 4P software and a good understanding of document workflows.

    *

Previous experience working for a main contractor.

    *

Experience supporting construction schemes valued between £10 million and £40 million.

    *

A good understanding of electronic document management systems, including document control procedures, revision management and document distribution.

    *

Strong IT skills, including proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, word processing and relevant project software.

    *

Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.

    *

Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams, subcontractors and suppliers.

    *

    An NVQ qualification or equivalent.

You will be proactive, organised and comfortable taking ownership of document control processes, helping ensure project information remains accurate, up to date and readily accessible.

    What’s on offer?

You will join a collaborative and supportive construction team working on a varied portfolio of projects in a fast-paced environment. The role offers the opportunity to take ownership of document control activities, work closely with a range of project stakeholders and contribute directly to successful project delivery.
