How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    The Opportunity

Our client is an established and highly respected business within the welding industry, offering innovative robotic welding systems and turnkey automation solutions to customers across a wide range of manufacturing sectors.

With ambitious plans for continued growth across the UK and Ireland, they are now looking to recruit an Application Sales Engineer to further develop their robotic welding and automation business.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technical sales professional or someone with a strong technical background in welding automation who is looking to develop a career in sales.

Previous sales experience is advantageous but not essential, as comprehensive product training and ongoing technical support will be provided.

    The Role

Reporting directly to the UK Managing Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and developing opportunities for robotic welding cells and turnkey welding automation solutions throughout the UK and Ireland.

Working closely with customers, the role will involve understanding their manufacturing processes, identifying opportunities for automation and recommending suitable technical solutions.

You will be supported by experienced UK and European engineering teams throughout the sales process, from initial customer discussions and application assessments through to technical proposals and securing orders.

    Key responsibilities will include:

    *

Identifying and developing new business opportunities across the UK and Ireland.

    *

Promoting robotic welding cells and turnkey welding automation solutions.

    *

Building and maintaining relationships with end users, manufacturers, distributors and system integrators.

    *

Understanding customer applications and recommending appropriate technical solutions.

    *

Conducting customer visits, technical discussions and application assessments.

    *

Working closely with internal engineering and technical teams to develop customer proposals.

    *

Managing opportunities throughout the sales cycle, from initial enquiry through to order placement.

    *

Supporting the continued growth and development of the UK and Ireland business.

    The Candidate

We are particularly interested in speaking with individuals who have experience within robotic welding, welding automation, industrial robotics or automated manufacturing systems.

Candidates may currently be working in technical sales, applications engineering, project engineering, robotic programming or another relevant technical position.

    The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

    *

A strong technical understanding of welding automation, robotic welding systems or related industrial automation equipment.

    *

Experience working within welding, fabrication, manufacturing or industrial automation environments.

    *

The ability to understand customer requirements and communicate technical solutions effectively.

    *

    Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.

    *

A proactive, self-motivated approach with an interest in developing new business.

    *

Good commercial awareness and organisational skills.

    *

A willingness to travel extensively throughout the UK, with occasional overseas travel.

Importantly, applicants do not necessarily need previous sales experience. Individuals with relevant technical knowledge, strong communication skills and the ambition to develop commercially are encouraged to apply.

    Remuneration & Benefits

The successful candidate will receive a competitive package, including:

    *

Basic Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 depending on experience

    *

    Bonus: 10%

    *

    Company Car

    *

    Private Medical Cover

    *

    Laptop and mobile phone

    *

    Home office support

    *

Comprehensive product training and technical support

    *

Opportunity to develop within an established international business
