How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Location: Oxfordshire

    Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

    Travel: UK-wide

Are you an ambitious business development professional with experience in the apprenticeship, training or education sector? This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of commercial growth, develop strategic partnerships and help shape the future of a growing apprenticeship assessment organisation. Working closely with the Managing Director and senior leadership team, you’ll identify new markets, win business and build lasting relationships with employers, training providers and industry stakeholders.

    Key responsibilities:

Develop and deliver business development strategies to drive sustainable growth.

Identify new markets and opportunities across apprenticeship standards.

Build relationships with employers, training providers and industry partners.

Manage the full sales cycle, from lead generation through to contract negotiation and onboarding.

Monitor sales pipelines, forecasts and performance against targets.

Provide market insight and competitor intelligence to support business strategy.

Represent the organisation at industry events and networking opportunities.

Work with internal teams to ensure an excellent customer experience.

    About you:

Proven experience in business development, sales or commercial growth.

Background in apprenticeships, End-Point Assessment/Apprenticeship Assessment, training or further education.

Strong industry contacts and a track record of winning new business.

Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.

Commercially minded, analytical and confident working with senior stakeholders.

A full driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle.

Experience in a regulated environment, such as Ofqual, would be advantageous.

The opportunity: A senior, influential role offering the chance to shape growth strategy, build new partnerships and make a tangible commercial impact. If you have the sector knowledge and drive to identify opportunities and turn them into results, we’d love to hear from you
