How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Buyer

Central London (Largely On-Site- flexible working available ad hoc)
    £45,000 - £55,000 DOE + Excellent Growth Opportunities

Help Build the Supply Chain Behind a Manufacturing Revolution

A unique opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Buyer to join one of the UK's fastest-growing advanced manufacturing organisations.

This is not a traditional procurement role in a mature business. You'll be joining a company in a period of exceptional growth, investing heavily in new facilities, technology and talent. As part of a rapidly expanding supply chain function, you'll have the opportunity to make a genuine impact, influence supplier strategy and help shape procurement processes from the ground up.

If you're someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys solving complex supply challenges and wants to play a key role in scaling a manufacturing operation, we'd love to hear from you.

    The Opportunity

Working alongside Operations, Engineering, Production and Logistics teams, you'll be responsible for ensuring materials, components and supplier relationships support an ambitious growth trajectory.

You'll take ownership of purchasing activities, build strong supplier partnerships and proactively manage supply risks, while contributing to wider procurement initiatives focused on cost, quality and scalability.

This role offers genuine progression potential as the wider supply chain function continues to evolve.

    What You'll Be Doing

Managing the procurement of materials, components and engineering-related products.
Raising and expediting purchase orders to support production requirements.
Developing and strengthening relationships with suppliers across the UK and internationally.
Monitoring supplier performance, lead times and inventory levels.
Negotiating pricing, delivery schedules and commercial agreements.
Supporting supplier performance reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
Working closely with Production Planning teams to ensure material availability.
Identifying cost-saving opportunities and supporting sourcing projects.
Assisting with the implementation of supplier scorecards and performance metrics.
Supporting longer-term procurement strategies and framework agreements.
Maintaining accurate purchasing data within ERP/MRP systems.
Helping improve processes within a growing procurement and supply chain team.

    What We're Looking For

    Essential

Experience within a Buyer, Purchasing, Procurement or Supply Chain role.
Background within manufacturing, engineering or industrial environments.
    Supplier management and negotiation skills.
Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-moving business.
    Commercial awareness and analytical thinking.
Confident stakeholder management and communication skills.
    ERP/MRP systems experience.
Proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to work independently.

    Desirable

Experience purchasing raw materials, metals, machined components or engineering products.
Knowledge of supplier performance management and vendor scorecards.
Experience within aerospace, defence, automotive, Formula 1, precision engineering or advanced manufacturing sectors.
CIPS qualification or working towards completion is desirable
Understanding of production planning, inventory management or demand forecasting - desirable

    Who Will Succeed?

This business is looking for people who are excited by growth, change and opportunity.

You'll be naturally curious, commercially minded and comfortable operating in an environment where things move quickly. You'll enjoy building relationships, taking ownership of challenges and finding practical solutions.

This role is ideal for someone who wants more than a transactional purchasing position and is eager to be part of building something special.

    What's on Offer?

Salary up to £55,000 depending on experience
    Pension scheme
23 days annual leave plus bank holidays
    Free daily meal service
Additional benefits improving as company matures
    Significant career progression opportunities
Exposure to a growing global manufacturing operation
Opportunity to influence supplier strategy and procurement processes
Join a business investing heavily in its people, facilities and future growth
