How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    About Metro

At Metro, we deliver integrated freight forwarding and logistics solutions across air, ocean and road, supported by industry leading technology and expert supply chain management services.

Operating across global markets and key trade lanes, we combine local expertise with international reach to provide reliable, scalable and connected logistics solutions for customers across a diverse range of industries.

As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a Junior HR Advisor, within our People & Performance to play a vital role in supporting managers and employees across the business.

    The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional looking to further develop their career within a fast paced and dynamic business.

Reporting into the People & Performance Manager, you will provide professional HR support across the employee lifecycle, managing employee relations casework, supporting people processes, maintaining HR data integrity and helping to deliver an exceptional employee experience.

You will be a trusted point of contact for managers and employees, providing pragmatic advice while ensuring compliance with company policies and employment legislation.

    What You'll Be Doing

As a key member of the People & Performance team, you will provide proactive HR support across a broad range of employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, absence, performance and probation processes.

Working closely with managers across the business, you will offer practical, commercially focused advice, helping to resolve workplace issues and ensure a consistent employee experience.

Play an important role in maintaining accurate HR records and systems, supporting audits and people projects, driving continuous improvement of HR policies and procedures, and promoting a fair, compliant and people focused approach to managing our employees.

    What We're Looking For

We are looking for an HR professional with a strong understanding of HR processes, employment legislation and compliance requirements, who can confidently build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the business.

You will be highly organised, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, and possess excellent communication skills with a professional and approachable style.

With a resilient and solutions focused mindset, you'll be trusted to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion while delivering a high standard of support to both managers and employees.

    Why Join Metro?

At Metro, our people are at the heart of everything we do. We offer a collaborative and supportive working environment where you'll have the opportunity to develop your HR career, contribute to meaningful people initiatives and make a real impact across the business.
