How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Location: Derby / Nottingham / East Midlands

Working pattern: Hybrid - 2 days office, 3 days home

    The opportunity
FIND Recruitment Group is working with a leading UK training and apprenticeship provider to recruit a People Partner to join its growing People Team.

Our client is a well-established organisation delivering apprenticeship programmes, professional training and workforce development solutions to employers across the UK. The business is going through an exciting period of growth and transformation, bringing together different businesses under one brand and continuing to expand its operations.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HR Advisor, Employee Relations Advisor or People Partner who enjoys the hands-on side of HR and wants to make a genuine difference within a growing organisation.

You don't need previous experience in education or apprenticeships. We're much more interested in finding someone with strong employee relations experience, a proactive approach and a great personality.

    The role
You'll provide dedicated HR support to approximately 220 employees across central business functions, including Finance, IT, Curriculum and People.

This is a predominantly employee relations-focused position, where you'll act as a trusted advisor to managers, helping them navigate people challenges, manage cases effectively and build confidence in handling employee matters.

Around 90% of the role will focus on employee relations, although you'll also have opportunities to contribute to wider HR projects, organisational change and process improvements.
    Key responsibilities

Manage employee relations cases, including disciplinaries, grievances, absence management and performance issues.
Provide practical, commercially minded HR advice and employment law guidance to managers.
Coach and develop managers to handle people matters confidently and effectively.
Build strong relationships with operational and central support teams.
Support organisational change projects, including restructures, redundancies and TUPE activity where required.
Contribute to improving HR processes, policies and systems.
Support wider people initiatives, including performance management, talent development and recruitment.
Help create a positive, consistent and supportive people culture across the business. What we're looking for

We're open to speaking with established People Partners, experienced HR Advisors or ambitious HR professionals ready to take the next step in their careers.

    You'll ideally bring:

Strong, hands-on employee relations experience, with the confidence to manage cases and advise managers independently.
A solid understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice.
Experience working in a busy HR environment, balancing competing priorities.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at different levels.
A proactive, practical and solutions-focused approach.
The confidence to work independently while contributing to a wider HR team.
A positive personality and the ability to remain approachable and professional when dealing with challenging situations. Experience supporting restructures, redundancies, TUPE processes or delivering HR training would be particularly valuable.

Previous experience within education, apprenticeships or training would be useful, but is absolutely not essential.
A CIPD qualification would be welcomed, but practical HR experience is much more important.

    Why consider this opportunity?
Our client is going through an exciting period of growth and transformation, creating opportunities for its People Team to make a real impact.

You'll be joining a friendly, supportive team with a refreshingly flexible approach to working.

The hiring manager believes in giving people autonomy, trusting them to deliver and creating an environment where people can enjoy their work.

This would particularly suit someone who enjoys the technical side of HR and employee relations but also wants to work somewhere with a positive, down-to-earth culture.

    What's on offer:

    Salary up to £42,000
Hybrid working - 2 days office / 3 days home
Flexibility to work from a suitable company office
Opportunities to develop your HR career and broaden your experience
Exposure to organisational change, acquisitions and business transformation
A supportive team and an approachable, flexible management style Interested?

If you're an HR professional with strong employee relations experience who is looking for a new challenge within a growing organisation, we'd love to hear from you.
