How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Assistant Site Manager

    Location: Lakenheath, Suffolk
    Salary: £50,000–£55,000 + car allowance + benefits
    Developer: National PLC Housebuilder

    The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and motivated Assistant Site Manager to join a leading national PLC housebuilder on a major residential development in Lakenheath, Suffolk.

The development will comprise approximately 350 traditional-build homes, ranging from 2, 3 and 4-bedroom properties. This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Site Manager with a strong background in traditional housebuilding to join an established developer and play a key role in delivering a high-quality residential scheme.

    The Role

Working closely with the Site Manager, you will assist in the day-to-day management of the development, helping to ensure that homes are delivered safely, on programme and to the highest standards of quality.

    Key responsibilities will include:

Assisting with the management and coordination of all site activities throughout the traditional build process.

Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, company procedures and statutory requirements.

Monitoring build progress and helping to ensure plots are delivered in line with agreed construction programmes.

Coordinating subcontractors and site personnel to maintain productivity and workmanship standards.

Carrying out regular quality inspections to ensure work meets company standards, NHBC requirements and building regulations.

Supporting the Site Manager with programme planning, site logistics and the resolution of construction issues.

Monitoring subcontractor performance and ensuring works are completed efficiently and to specification.

Maintaining accurate site records, inspection reports and health and safety documentation.

Helping to maintain a safe, clean and well-organised working environment.

Supporting plot inspections, snagging and the successful handover of completed homes.

    The Ideal Candidate

To be considered for this position, you should have:

Previous experience as an Assistant Site Manager within the residential housebuilding sector.

A solid understanding of traditional build construction methods.

Experience working on residential developments, ideally within a PLC housebuilder environment.

NVQ Level 4 or above in Construction Site Supervision/Management, or an equivalent recognised qualification.

A good understanding of health and safety, quality control and construction programmes.

    Strong organisational and communication skills.

The ability to coordinate subcontractors, monitor progress and support the wider site team.

A proactive attitude, excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality homes.

The ambition and capability to develop your career within a leading residential developer.
