How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

My client is looking for a Contract Product Design Engineer to support the development of consumer products, combining creative thinking with practical engineering to deliver designs that perform well and are straightforward to manufacture.

This opportunity would suit a hands-on, curious engineer who enjoys developing ideas, building prototypes and understanding how things work. You’ll bring experience in product, mechanical or industrial design, alongside a passion for consumer goods or household appliances.

    The role

Working across design, prototyping and testing, your responsibilities will include:

    * Developing and refining product concepts, producing 3D CAD models and technical drawings.

    * Supporting prototype builds and hands-on testing, using the results to identify improvements and resolve design challenges.

    * Collaborating with colleagues to balance product performance, usability, appearance and manufacturing requirements.

    * Supporting material selection and design-for-manufacture activities, considering quality, cost and production processes.

    About you

My client is looking for someone with a practical approach to problem-solving, strong attention to detail and a willingness to get involved beyond the screen. You’ll have:

    * A degree in Product Design Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design or a related discipline.

    * Around 1–3 years’ experience in a product, mechanical or industrial design environment. Engineers with additional experience are also welcome to apply.

    * Experience in, or a strong interest in, consumer goods or household appliances.

    * The ability to communicate design ideas clearly and work collaboratively to solve engineering problems.

Knowledge of plastic manufacturing processes would be an advantage, but is not essential.

This is an opportunity to contribute to tangible products in a role that combines design work with practical development and testing
