The Opportunity
Our client is looking for a hands on leader to build and a develop home delivery team.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the day-to-day performance of warehouse, transport, fulfilment, home delivery and installation operations.
* Provide visible, hands-on leadership across the operation, ensuring managers and teams understand and deliver against clear standards and priorities.
* Own operational KPIs covering productivity, service, cost, quality, safety, customer experience and workforce performance.
* Ensure the operation is effectively resourced and organised to meet customer demand, service commitments and seasonal peaks.
* Drive continuous improvement across warehouse, transport and final-mile delivery, removing inefficiency and improving operational discipline.
* Work closely with Sales, Customer Services, Buying, Finance, HR and other senior leaders to optimise the full customer order and delivery cycle.
* Monitor labour utilisation, productivity, overtime, absence and operational capacity, taking action where performance or resource levels fall outside expectation.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
* Proven experience in transport and warehouse management, ideally within a large-scale operation.
* Strong leadership and people-management experience.
* A CPC qualification.
* A strong understanding of transport compliance, fleet management and warehouse operations.
* Excellent commercial and budget-management skills.
* The ability to develop and implement operational strategies while maintaining a strong focus on service, safety and efficiency.
* Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
