How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Aura Education is recruiting a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) within a school in the L23 area of Liverpool.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about inclusive education and helping children with additional needs overcome barriers to learning. We are looking for an individual who can provide tailored support, encourage independence and help pupils feel safe, understood and confident in the classroom.

    The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other school staff to provide individualised support for pupils with additional needs. You will help pupils access learning, develop essential life skills and build positive relationships, adapting your approach to suit their individual needs and abilities.

    Key responsibilities include:

Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEND, helping them engage with lessons and achieve their individual learning goals.

Supporting children with needs such as Autism (ASC), ADHD, communication difficulties, sensory processing needs and social, emotional and behavioural challenges, where applicable.

Adapting learning activities and resources to meet pupils' individual abilities and learning styles.

Promoting positive behaviour, emotional regulation and the development of social skills.

Using patience, empathy and appropriate strategies to support pupils who may experience anxiety, frustration or difficulties with transitions.

Encouraging independence, confidence and participation in classroom activities.

Working collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO and other professionals to support pupils' individual education and development plans.

Helping to maintain a safe, structured, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.

    The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

Has a genuine passion for supporting children and young people with SEND.

Has experience working with pupils with additional needs, either in a school, specialist provision or another relevant setting.

Demonstrates patience, empathy, resilience and a calm, positive approach.

Understands the importance of adapting communication and support to meet individual needs.

Can build trusting relationships with pupils while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.

Is confident supporting positive behaviour and encouraging emotional and social development.

Works effectively as part of a team and communicates well with teaching staff.

Holds a relevant Teaching Assistant or SEND qualification or has equivalent practical experience (desirable).

    Why Work with Aura Education?
