How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    The Opportunity

Trinity Personnel is currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Programmer, Setter & Operator on behalf of our client, a well-established engineering and manufacturing business.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled CNC machinist with experience in programming, setting and operating CNC lathes to join a manufacturing team producing high-quality precision components.

The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of Fanuc control systems and be confident programming directly at the machine, setting tooling and workholding, and ensuring components are manufactured accurately and efficiently to meet production requirements.

    Key Responsibilities

    *

Programme, set and operate 2-axis CNC lathes using Fanuc control systems.

    *

Create, edit and optimise CNC programmes at the machine using G-code and M-code.

    *

Read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD models and production documentation.

    *

Set up machines, including tooling, fixtures, workholding, tool offsets and datum positions.

    *

Prove out new programmes and carry out first-off inspections before production runs.

    *

Manufacture precision components in both batch and one-off production runs.

    *

Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to offsets and programmes where necessary.

    *

Carry out in-process inspections using measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers and bore gauges.

    *

Ensure components meet specified tolerances, quality standards and surface finish requirements.

    *

Identify and resolve machining issues, reporting any faults or quality concerns promptly.

    *

Complete production and quality documentation to maintain accurate traceability.

    *

Carry out routine machine checks and basic maintenance, keeping the work area clean, organised and safe.

    *

Work closely with colleagues across production, quality and warehouse departments to meet deadlines and production targets.

    *

Follow all health and safety procedures and maintain high standards of housekeeping.

    Skills & Experience Required

    *

Previous experience programming, setting and operating CNC lathes.

    *

Strong working knowledge of Fanuc control systems.

    *

Experience with 2-axis CNC turning machines.

    *

Ability to programme and edit using G-code and M-code.

    *

Competence in setting tooling, workholding, offsets and machine datums.

    *

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.

    *

Experience using precision measuring equipment and carrying out quality inspections.

    *

Good attention to detail and an understanding of engineering tolerances.

    *

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

    *

A reliable, proactive approach with a commitment to quality and meeting production deadlines.

    Desirable Experience

    *

Experience with bar feeders and/or live tooling.

    *

Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement processes.

    *

A relevant engineering apprenticeship or recognised engineering qualification.

    The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a hands-on, experienced CNC machinist who can confidently take ownership of the programming, setting and operation of CNC turning equipment. You will be quality-focused, technically minded and comfortable working in a busy manufacturing environment where accuracy, efficiency and teamwork are essential.

    Interested?

If you have the relevant CNC turning experience and are looking for your next opportunity, we would love to hear from you
