How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Are you passionate about helping people develop the skills, confidence and motivation they need to move into work? Do you have experience in employability, employment support or welfare-to-work programmes?

We’re looking for an Employment Advisor to support participants at the pre-employment stage, helping them identify barriers, improve their employability skills and prepare for sustainable employment.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced employability professional who enjoys providing practical advice, guidance and personalised support to help people progress towards their career goals.

    About the Organisation

Our client operates within the employability and skills sector, supporting individuals across West Yorkshire to develop the confidence, skills and capabilities needed to progress towards employment.

Working across Leeds, Bradford, Wakefield, Kirklees and Calderdale, the organisation supports participants within local communities, helping them prepare for work and achieve positive progression outcomes.

    About the Role

As an Employment Advisor, you’ll work directly with participants to understand their individual circumstances, identify barriers to employment and develop practical plans to improve their work readiness.

You’ll provide tailored employability guidance, monitor progress and help participants take realistic steps towards employment.

    Key responsibilities include:

    *

Assessing participants’ needs, skills and barriers to employment.

    *

Developing individual action plans with realistic employability and progression goals.

    *

Providing advice and guidance on CV writing, job searching, applications and interview preparation.

    *

Helping participants develop workplace skills, confidence and motivation.

    *

Supporting individuals to overcome barriers and improve their readiness for employment.

    *

Monitoring participant progress and maintaining accurate records of support and outcomes.

    *

Working collaboratively with colleagues and relevant support services to help participants progress.

    Ideal Candidate

You’ll have experience in employability, employment support, welfare-to-work or a related field, with a genuine commitment to helping people move closer to employment.

    You’ll ideally have:

    *

Experience supporting individuals who face barriers to employment.

    *

A strong understanding of employability skills, work readiness and progression planning.

    *

Experience providing advice, guidance, coaching or mentoring.

    *

    Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

    *

The ability to motivate and engage participants from different backgrounds.

    *

Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload.

    *

A proactive, person-centred approach focused on positive outcomes.

    Why Apply?

    *

    Competitive salary: £30,000 - £32,000 per annum.

    *

Permanent opportunity: Build your career in a full-time role.

    *

Meaningful work: Help people overcome barriers and prepare for employment.

    *

Regional impact: Support participants across West Yorkshire.

    *

Professional development: Use and develop your employability and participant-support expertise.
