How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Fire Door Project / Technical Manager

Are you an experienced Fire Door professional looking to take ownership of multiple high-profile projects across London and the South East?

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, our client is seeking an experienced Fire Door Project / Technical Manager to join their established team based from their Crawley office. This is an excellent opportunity for a knowledgeable passive fire professional to play a key role in the successful delivery of Fire Door and Fire Stopping projects across a diverse portfolio of residential, healthcare, education, and commercial environments.

With approximately 90% of projects focused on Fire Doors and 10% involving Fire Stopping, this role is ideal for someone with a strong technical understanding of fire door installations, remedial works, compliance requirements, and project delivery.

    The Role

As Fire Door Project / Technical Manager, you will oversee multiple live projects from inception through to completion, ensuring all works are delivered safely, compliantly, on time, and within budget.

You will act as the key point of contact for clients, site teams, and senior management while maintaining the highest standards of workmanship and regulatory compliance.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Manage multiple Fire Door and Passive Fire Protection projects across London and the South East.

    * Oversee works within residential, healthcare, education, local authority, and commercial sectors.

    * Manage and support site-based teams, including supervisors, installers, carpenters, and fire stopping operatives.

    * Conduct site inspections, progress meetings, and quality assurance audits.

    * Assist with surveys, technical assessments, quotations, and project scoping.

    * Coordinate labour, materials, subcontractors, and project programmes.

    * Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and within agreed budgets.

    * Maintain strong client relationships and provide a high level of customer service.

    * Monitor compliance with BM TRADA, IFC/Kiwa and relevant passive fire standards.

    * Produce project reports, programme updates, and associated documentation.

    * Liaise closely with directors, commercial teams, and operational management to ensure successful project delivery.

    * Identify opportunities for improvement, efficiency, and business growth.

    About You

We are looking for a driven and technically competent passive fire professional who has a proven background managing Fire Door projects and delivering compliant fire safety solutions within occupied environments.

You will be comfortable overseeing multiple projects simultaneously, managing site teams, and maintaining strong client relationships while ensuring industry-leading standards are achieved.

    Essential Requirements

    * Previous experience as a Fire Door Project Manager, Technical Manager, Contracts Manager, or similar role.

    * Minimum 8 years' experience within Fire Door installations, inspections, remedial works, and compliance.

    * Strong technical knowledge of Fire Door regulations, standards, and best practice.

    * Good understanding of Passive Fire Protection and Fire Stopping systems.

    * Experience managing multiple live projects and operational teams.

    * Knowledge of BM TRADA, IFC and/or Kiwa accreditation requirements.

    * Experience working within occupied residential, healthcare, education, and commercial environments.

    * Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

    * Ability to read technical specifications and provide practical solutions.

    * Full UK Driving Licence.

    Desirable

    * Fire Door Inspection qualifications.

    * Experience with third-party accredited contractors.

    * Passive Fire Protection qualifications or certifications.

    * Experience supporting tenders, surveys, and estimating activities.

    * Supportive and experienced management team

    * Variety of projects across London and the South East

    * Opportunity to influence the growth and development of the fire protection division
