How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Stores & Logistics Assistant – Manufacturing
    Pertemps Isle of Wight
    £13.36 per hour
    Temporary contract

Pertemps Isle of Wight is recruiting for a Stores & Logistics Assistant to join our client, a busy manufacturing business, on an initial three-month temporary contract, with the potential for extension.

This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in warehouse stores, stock control, production stores or electrical manufacturing who is looking for their next role.

You don't need to be a logistics specialist. If you've worked in a manufacturing or warehouse environment, handled stock or components, or helped keep production supplied with the materials it needs, we'd like to hear from you.

    Pay rate: £13.36 per hour
Contract: Initially three months, with potential for extension
Start date: As soon as possible
    Pay frequency: Weekly or monthly

    About the Role
Working as part of the stores team and reporting to the Logistics Manager, you'll help ensure materials, components and finished products are received, stored and moved to the right place at the right time.

    Your duties will include:

Receiving deliveries and checking items against the relevant paperwork.

Putting stock away and keeping the stores area organised.

Picking components and materials for the production team.

Booking stock in and out and keeping inventory records up to date.

Checking finished products and preparing items for dispatch.

Packing goods securely and ensuring the correct paperwork is included.

Carrying out stock checks and helping resolve any discrepancies.

Following workplace procedures to ensure materials and products are handled correctly.

Supporting the wider team to keep production and stores operations running smoothly.

Full details of the role and systems used will be discussed during the recruitment process.

    What We're Looking For

We're interested in candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:

    Warehouse or stores work.

Stores within a manufacturing or production environment.

Electrical or electronic manufacturing, including handling components.

Stock control, inventory or goods-in and goods-out.

Picking, packing and preparing goods for dispatch.

You'll also need to be organised, reliable and comfortable working with stock, paperwork and computer systems. Good attention to detail is important, as is the ability to work independently while supporting the wider team.

Experience using stock management or inventory systems would be beneficial, but practical experience in a relevant warehouse or manufacturing environment is what we'd particularly like to hear about.

The role involves handling and moving boxes of stock, so applicants should be comfortable with the physical requirements of the position.
