How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Are you a CDM/Principal Designer who is looking to work for a Global Consultancy?
Looking for an opportunity which is heavily Principal Design led?
Want to work on exclusive multi-million pound schemes?

I’m working with a leading multi-disciplinary property and infrastructure consultancy that is looking to appoint an experienced CDM / Principal Designer to join its established Health & Safety team in London.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident professional with strong, hands-on Principal Designer experience under CDM 2015 who can take ownership of projects, build trusted client relationships and deliver high-quality technical advice across a diverse portfolio.

The consultancy works across a broad range of sectors, including commercial property, residential, education, healthcare, retail, manufacturing, infrastructure, defence, aviation and the public sector. You’ll also benefit from working within a wider business offering Building Surveying, Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Architecture, Building Services Engineering, Sustainability, Environmental Consultancy and Civil & Structural Engineering.

    The Role

You’ll take a leading role in delivering Principal Designer and CDM consultancy services, working closely with clients, designers, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams to manage risk and promote safe design throughout the project lifecycle.

    Key responsibilities include

Undertaking the Principal Designer role under CDM 2015 across a range of construction and refurbishment projects.
Planning, managing and coordinating health and safety during the pre-construction phase.
Reviewing design proposals, identifying foreseeable risks and challenging design teams where appropriate.
Preparing and reviewing Pre-Construction Information, design risk registers, Health & Safety Files and associated CDM documentation.
Advising clients and designers on their statutory duties and ensuring effective cooperation between duty holders.
Reviewing contractor documentation, including Construction Phase Plans and relevant health and safety submissions.
Carrying out site inspections, health and safety audits and compliance reviews.
Building strong relationships with clients and identifying opportunities to develop existing accounts and secure further work.
Collaborating with colleagues across the wider consultancy to deliver integrated services and support business growth.
    About You

I’m keen to speak with professionals who have a strong technical grounding in CDM and can demonstrate genuine experience delivering the Principal Designer role.

    The successful CDM/Principal Designer

Significant experience in a CDM / Principal Designer consultancy position.
Strong working knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015 and associated health and safety legislation.
Proven experience managing design risk and coordinating multidisciplinary design teams.
Confidence advising clients, designers and contractors on their statutory responsibilities.
Excellent communication, report-writing and stakeholder management skills.
The ability to manage multiple projects and deliver to agreed deadlines.
A proactive, commercially aware approach to client relationships and business development.
Relevant health and safety, construction or built-environment qualifications.
    What's on Offer?

    £55,000–£70,000 per annum
    Hyrbid working
An opportunity to join a Global Consultancy
    Private medical care
    Generous holiday allowance
    Expenses paid
    Competitive pension contribution
    Plus additional benefits
