How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Are you a Site Engineer with experience delivering utilities works, diversions or associated civil engineering activities on major infrastructure projects?

Do you have a strong understanding of site engineering, setting out and coordinating works around existing utilities and services?

Are you looking for an opportunity to play a key role on one of the UK's largest infrastructure projects, supporting the delivery of essential utilities works on HS2?

    Location: Buckingham
Salary: £33,000-£38,000 per annum DOE + approximately £4,700 car allowance
    Benefits:
    ·Approximately £4,700 car allowance
·Travel allowance paid at 33p per mile
·Subsistence package for eligible candidates living more than 50 miles away
·26 days annual leave plus bank holidays
·Long-term career development on a major infrastructure project

    Role Overview:

My client is looking to appoint a Site Engineer with utilities experience to join the engineering team working on the EKFB section of HS2, based in the Buckingham area.

This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the UK's largest infrastructure projects, supporting the delivery of utilities diversion works and associated civil engineering activities across a major construction programme.

The role requires a Site Engineer with practical experience working around utilities and service diversions, rather than someone from a purely utilities coordination or administrative background.

Working closely with Site Agents, Section Engineers, subcontractors and the wider project delivery team, you will support the safe and effective delivery of engineering activities associated with existing services, utilities diversions and related infrastructure works.

You will be responsible for ensuring site activities are delivered in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, quality standards and programme requirements, while helping to identify and resolve technical challenges associated with utilities infrastructure.

This opportunity would suit a Site Engineer with experience in utilities or civil engineering who is looking to develop their career within a major infrastructure environment.

    Key Responsibilities:
·You will support the delivery of utilities diversion works and associated civil engineering activities across the HS2 project.
·You will undertake setting out, surveying and engineering checks to ensure construction works are completed accurately and in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
·You will work closely with site management teams, subcontractors and other engineering disciplines to coordinate works involving existing and diverted utilities.
·You will assist in identifying potential clashes, technical constraints and construction challenges associated with utilities infrastructure.
·You will maintain accurate site records, quality assurance documentation and inspection records throughout project delivery.
·You will support the planning and coordination of site activities to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with programme requirements.
·You will promote compliance with health, safety and environmental standards, particularly when working around existing underground and above-ground services.

    Essential Requirements:
·Previous experience working as a Site Engineer on civil engineering or major infrastructure projects.
·Practical experience working with utilities, particularly utilities diversion works.
·A degree in Civil Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline is essential.
    ·A valid CSCS card.
·Experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and construction information.
·A good understanding of setting-out procedures, site engineering practices and construction quality requirements.
·Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with site teams, subcontractors and other engineering professionals.
·Candidates must already have the right to work in the UK, as visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

    Desirable Requirements:
·Previous experience delivering utilities diversions on major highways, rail or infrastructure projects.
·Experience working around existing underground services and associated civil engineering activities.
·Familiarity with surveying equipment, setting-out techniques and engineering quality assurance procedures.
·Previous experience working on HS2 or other nationally significant infrastructure projects.

This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the UK's largest infrastructure projects, gaining exposure to complex utilities works while developing your technical expertise within an established engineering team.

The position offers a competitive salary and benefits package, long-term career prospects and the opportunity to contribute to the delivery of a nationally significant civil engineering programme.
