How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Lead, manage and develop engineering and maintenance teams, ensuring high levels of performance, engagement and accountability.

    *

Oversee daily workshop operations, planned maintenance schedules, servicing and repair activities.

    *

Coordinate technical resources, workloads and operational priorities to maximise efficiency and equipment availability.

    *

Monitor workshop productivity, maintenance performance, service delivery and operational KPIs.

    *

Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health, safety, quality and regulatory requirements.

    *

Build effective relationships with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.

    *

Identify opportunities to improve operational processes, reduce downtime and increase productivity.

    *

Support the Operations Manager with resource planning, people management and wider operational objectives.

    Essential Requirements

    *

Minimum two years' experience in a management or supervisory capacity.

    *

Strong mechanical or technical knowledge gained within an engineering, workshop or fleet maintenance environment.

    *

Proven experience managing technical teams, allocating workloads and overseeing maintenance operations.

    *

Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.

    *

Ability to make decisions, solve problems and manage competing priorities in a demanding operational environment.

    *

Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.

    *

A proactive, customer-focused approach with a commitment to continuous improvement.

    Desirable Experience

    *

Aviation or Ground Support Equipment (GSE) maintenance.

    *

HGV, PSV, commercial vehicle or fleet engineering.

    *

Plant machinery, forklift, material handling or heavy equipment maintenance.

    *

IOSH, NEBOSH, NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent technical qualifications.

    *

Experience using SAP, Power BI or other maintenance management and reporting systems.

    What's on Offer?

    *

Opportunity to join an established international aviation services business.

    *

A responsible leadership position within a busy Heathrow engineering operation.

    *

    Structured 4-on/4-off day shift pattern.

    *

Opportunity to apply transferable engineering and maintenance management experience within the aviation industry.

    *

A varied operational role with genuine responsibility for team performance, maintenance delivery and continuous improvement.

    Interested?
