How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Are you an ambitious HR, Business, or Accounting graduate looking to kick-start your career in HR, Payroll, or similar?

Or perhaps you already have some initial exposure to HR systems, payroll, or benefits administration and want to continue your professional development?

We are looking for a enthusiastic junior payroll and benefits person to join a supportive HR team on a fixed-term contract until November 2027.

This hybrid role is working 1 day in the Liverpool office per week, 2 days in the Warrington office and 2 days working from home. Paying a salary of £27,783

This is a fantastic entry-to-mid-level stepping stone where you’ll learn the ropes of payroll and benefits while helping deliver a brilliant service to colleagues across the business.

    What You’ll Be Doing:

Act as a friendly first point of contact for colleagues and managers, helping resolve everyday pay, pension, and benefit queries.
Assist with administering pension schemes, employee benefits, mileage claims, and handling new starters, leavers, and contractual changes.
Process payroll and reward data with strong attention to detail, ensuring everything is accurate, confidential, and on time.
Bring your fresh ideas! Help review and streamline processes to make our people services even better.
Support year-end activities, audits, and wider wellbeing and reward initiatives.

    What We’re Looking For:

Ideally an HR, Business, or Accounting/Finance graduate, or someone with early practical experience in a payroll, pensions, reward, or busy HR administration environment.
Good IT skills, a head for numbers, and top-tier attention to detail.
Warm, professional communication skills with a natural customer-first attitude.
Able to manage your workload, meet deadlines, and commit to the hybrid working pattern across our Liverpool and Warrington offices (a driving licence/access to a vehicle is a bonus!).
GCSE Maths and English (Level 4/C or equivalent).

If you are eager to learn, enjoy working with data and people, and want to build a fantastic foundation in Reward and Payroll, then we’d love to hear from you! Apply today
