How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Communicate relevant feedback and concerns to teaching staff

Support with break, lunch, corridor, and other general school duties when required

Build positive and professional relationships with students and colleagues

Act as a responsible and positive role model within the school

Follow school policies and safeguarding procedures at all times

    The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is:

Experienced in working with children or young people through education, coaching, mentoring, youth work, care, or a similar setting

Confident taking responsibility for a classroom

Calm, patient, and consistent when managing behaviour

A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills

Reliable, organised, and able to adapt to different situations

Professional and confident when working with secondary-aged students

Passionate about helping young people succeed

Able to build positive relationships while maintaining clear boundaries

Previous experience working in a school is desirable but not essential

    What's on Offer?

    Immediate start available

Full-time, long-term opportunity within a Northampton secondary school

    Competitive daily rates of pay

    Weekly pay

    Potential for temp-to-permanent progression

Free CPD and professional development opportunities, including safeguarding, SEND, and behaviour management

Dedicated support from an experienced education recruitment consultant

Valuable classroom experience across KS3 and KS4

Opportunities to develop your education career

Potential pathway into teacher training for aspiring teachers

    Why Apply?

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a secondary school while developing the skills needed to progress within education.
