This is a service-led position rather than an installation role, ideal for an engineer with strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills who enjoys resolving technical issues and carrying out preventative maintenance.
Key Responsibilities

Carry out routine servicing and preventative maintenance of CCTV systems in domestic properties.
*
Service and maintain access control systems, including door entry systems and electronic locking solutions.
*
Service, maintain and fault-find intruder alarm systems.
*
Diagnose system faults and carry out repairs to restore equipment to full working order.
*
Respond to reactive maintenance call-outs and investigate reported system issues.
*
Test system functionality and ensure equipment is operating correctly following repairs or maintenance.
*
Identify worn, damaged or faulty components and recommend appropriate remedial works or replacements.
*
Provide technical support and advice to customers regarding their security systems.
*
Explain system operation and demonstrate relevant functions to homeowners where required.
*
Complete service reports, job sheets and maintenance documentation accurately.
*
Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach when working in occupied residential properties.
*
Manage daily appointments effectively and keep customers and the office updated on progress.
*
Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety requirements and company procedures.
Skills and Experience Required
*
Previous experience as a Security Service Engineer, Security Systems Engineer or similar role.
*
Strong practical experience servicing and maintaining CCTV, access control and intruder alarm systems.
*
Good fault-finding, diagnostic and repair skills.
*
Experience carrying out preventative maintenance and reactive call-outs.
*
Good understanding of electronic security systems, associated equipment and cabling.
*
Ability to work independently and manage a daily workload.
*
Strong communication and customer service skills.
*
Full UK driving licence.
*
Relevant security systems qualifications or manufacturer training would be advantageous.
*
Experience working in domestic or residential properties is preferred.
