Consortium Professional Recruitment are pleased to be partnering with a growing manufacturing business to recruit an experienced Interim Project Manager – NPD / NPI for an initial 3–6 month assignment. This is an opportunity to take ownership of an established product roadmap, drive projects forward and make a visible difference from day one.
Working across engineering, design, manufacturing, commercial and marketing teams, you'll provide the structure, coordination and momentum needed to bring new products successfully to market. From initial project briefs through development, testing and manufacturing readiness to launch, you'll help turn plans into practical outcomes.
The Opportunity:
As an Interim Project Manager – NPD / NPI, you'll play a key role in:
Taking ownership of new product development and introduction projects, establishing clear objectives, milestones, responsibilities and realistic delivery timescales.
Developing and managing practical project plans, bringing cross-functional teams together and maintaining progress across competing priorities.
Coordinating engineering, design, manufacturing and commercial stakeholders, securing decisions, resolving challenges and keeping delivery on track.
Overseeing project schedules for product testing, validation and certification, working closely with technical specialists to manage dependencies and ensure manufacturing readiness.
Identifying risks, managing resource constraints and providing clear stakeholder updates, while introducing improvements that create a more consistent and effective NPD/NPI process. Your work will directly contribute to successful product launches, stronger cross-functional collaboration and improved visibility of project progress, risks and priorities across the business.
About You:
We're looking for someone who can bring:
Proven experience managing new product development or new product introduction projects within a manufacturing environment, from initial requirements through to launch.
Strong project management skills, including planning, milestone tracking, risk management and coordinating multiple workstreams.
The ability to bring engineering, design, manufacturing and commercial teams together, building productive relationships and influencing outcomes without direct line-management responsibility.
A practical understanding of NPD/NPI processes, with experience working within or improving structured project delivery methods.
Clear communication, sound judgement and a proactive approach to problem-solving, with the confidence to challenge constructively and secure decisions.
Experience of regulated products, certification, external testing or formal validation processes would be beneficial, although specific sector experience is not essential. You may have developed your career in engineering, design, manufacturing or project management. What matters most is your ability to take ownership, engage stakeholders and successfully deliver manufactured products through the development and introduction lifecycle.
You'll be comfortable joining an established team, quickly understanding priorities and building trusted working relationships. A collaborative, organised and adaptable approach will help you make an immediate contribution.
The Benefits and Package:
In return, you'll enjoy:
Salary – reflective of role and accountability
An interim assignment lasting approximately 3–6 months.
The opportunity to take ownership of meaningful product development and introduction projects within a growing manufacturing business.
A varied, hands-on role with exposure to engineering, manufacturing, commercial and senior leadership teams.
The chance to make an immediate impact, bringing clarity, structure and momentum to key business priorities.
An opportunity to share your expertise, strengthen project delivery processes and support successful new product launches. How to Apply:
