How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Customer Account Executive | Food & Beverage

    Stevenage, Hertfordshire | £28,000 | Full-time

Are you someone who enjoys building customer relationships, spotting sales opportunities and making sure customers receive a great service?

I'm working with a growing food and beverage business in Stevenage that's looking for a Customer Account Executive to join its sales and customer service team.

This is a varied role combining account management, customer service, sales and order processing. You'll take responsibility for a portfolio of existing business customers, helping them with their day-to-day requirements whilst identifying opportunities to grow their accounts.

It's an opportunity for someone who enjoys speaking with customers, is commercially minded and wants to develop their career within a growing business.

    The role

You'll be the main point of contact for a portfolio of B2B customers, building relationships, processing orders and making sure everything runs smoothly.

It's not just about responding to enquiries. You'll be encouraged to pick up the phone, understand what customers need and identify opportunities to introduce new products or generate additional orders.

    Your responsibilities will include:

Managing relationships with existing business customers and providing a consistently high level of service.

Proactively contacting customers to generate orders, discuss new products and identify upselling opportunities.

Processing customer orders accurately using Sage 200.

Monitoring customer activity and reconnecting with accounts that haven't ordered recently.

Supporting customers with product enquiries, promotions and seasonal launches.

Handling customer queries and resolving issues efficiently.

Maintaining accurate customer records and account information.

Working closely with the Sales, Marketing and Operations teams to support customer retention and account growth.

You'll have plenty of customer interaction and the opportunity to make a genuine commercial contribution, rather than simply processing orders all day.

    What we're looking for

We're keen to speak with people who have experience in customer service, internal sales, sales support or account management, particularly within a B2B environment.

You don't necessarily need to have worked in food and beverage before, but you should enjoy working with customers and feel comfortable having commercial conversations.

    Ideally, you'll bring:

Experience in a customer-facing role involving account management, sales or customer service.

Confidence speaking with customers over the phone and building long-term relationships.

A proactive approach to identifying sales opportunities and following up with customers.

Experience using Sage 200 or a similar order-processing system.

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

The ability to manage several customer accounts and priorities at once.

A positive, approachable personality and a willingness to get involved.

Experience in foodservice, wholesale, distribution or another B2B product-based business would be particularly useful.

    What's on offer?

    £28,000 basic salary

23 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing with service

Half a day off on your birthday

    Perkbox membership and staff discounts

    Free onsite parking

    Wellbeing support

Pension scheme and additional family-friendly benefits

The opportunity to develop your commercial skills within a growing food and beverage business

You'll be joining a business that's investing in its people, products and customer relationships, with the opportunity to work closely with an established sales team and gain broader commercial experience.

If you're currently working in customer service or sales support and would like a role with more account ownership and commercial responsibility, this could be a really good next step
