How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Manager to join an established design and consultancy business in a senior-level position.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong commercial background in construction, engineering, contracting or multidisciplinary consultancy who is looking to take on a strategic role with responsibility across multiple projects and teams.

The position will focus on commercial management, contractual risk, project governance and supporting project teams to ensure projects remain commercially viable throughout their lifecycle.

This is not a sales or business development role, but rather a senior commercial position focused on improving processes, managing risk and supporting the successful delivery of projects.

    Key Responsibilities:

Reviewing contracts, fee proposals, scopes of work and consultant appointments.
Providing commercial advice on JCT/NEC contracts, novation, liabilities, warranties and professional indemnity matters.
Identifying and managing commercial risks throughout the project lifecycle.
Supporting project teams with change management, additional fee recovery and contractual matters.
Advising on commercial disputes, claims and risk mitigation.
Improving commercial reporting, processes and governance across the business.
Working closely with senior management and project teams to provide commercial guidance and support.
Supporting and mentoring colleagues to improve commercial awareness across the business.
    What We're Looking For:

Significant commercial management experience within construction, engineering, contracting or consultancy.
Strong understanding of construction contracts, particularly JCT and NEC.
Experience managing commercial risk, contractual obligations, fee negotiations and project profitability.
Experience working across complex projects involving multiple consultants and stakeholders.
Excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
Confidence working with senior management and advising project teams on commercial matters.
A commercially minded, practical and collaborative approach.
    What's on Offer:

A competitive salary of £85,000–£95,000, flexible and hybrid working arrangements, and the opportunity to take on a senior role with genuine influence across the business.

Please note: Due to the confidential nature of this opportunity, only limited company information has been provided within this advert. For further details about the business, position and wider benefits package, please contact Matt at RGB Recruitment for a confidential discussion
