How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Are you an experienced electrician with a background in BMS installations, control wiring or commercial and industrial electrical projects?

A growing building services contractor is looking to recruit a BMS Electrician or BMS Electrical Supervisor to support electrical installation projects across commercial and industrial sites. The work includes building management systems, control panels, cable containment and wiring associated with heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment.

This is an installation-focused position, suited to electricians who enjoy practical site work and want to develop their experience across a range of building services projects. Experienced supervisors will also have the opportunity to support apprentices and help coordinate work on site.

    The Role
You'll work on BMS electrical installation projects across a range of environments, including commercial buildings, industrial facilities, healthcare settings and specialist facilities such as cleanrooms.
Projects involve installing the electrical infrastructure that allows building management systems to monitor and control building services. This includes containment, control wiring, panel installation and connections to mechanical plant and associated equipment.
Previous projects have included hospital refurbishment works, industrial facilities, cleanroom installations and commercial office fit-outs.
Depending on your experience, you may work as a hands-on BMS Electrician or take on additional responsibilities as an Electrical Supervisor, supporting other electricians, apprentices and trainees.

    Key Responsibilities

Carrying out electrical installation work associated with building management systems (BMS).
Installing cable containment, including cable tray, trunking, conduit and associated supports.
Running, terminating and connecting control cables in line with project specifications.
Installing BMS control panels and associated electrical infrastructure.
Carrying out control wiring installations around HVAC equipment, air handling units, plantrooms and other building services.
Working from electrical drawings, wiring diagrams and installation specifications.
Ensuring installations are completed safely and to the required quality standards.
Working alongside other electrical, mechanical and controls personnel on commercial and industrial projects.
Supporting testing activities and resolving installation issues as required.
Following site health and safety procedures and maintaining a tidy, organised working area.
For candidates joining at supervisory level, additional responsibilities will include guiding electricians and apprentices, monitoring installation standards and helping ensure site work is completed safely and efficiently.

    What You'll Need
To be considered for the BMS Electrician role, you'll need:

A minimum of three years' electrical experience.
NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations.
Previous experience working on BMS electrical systems and installations.
Strong knowledge of commercial or industrial cable containment and control wiring.
Practical experience installing electrical systems associated with building controls.
    A full UK driving licence.
The ability to work effectively as part of a site-based team.
A professional approach to health and safety, quality and workmanship.
Confidence using smartphones, tablets and laptops for work-related tasks.
The following would also be beneficial:

    18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
SSSTS or a similar site supervisory qualification.
Previous experience supervising electrical installation teams.
Experience supporting apprentices and developing less experienced electricians.
Candidates with a strong commercial or industrial electrical installation background and relevant control wiring experience may also be worth considering, provided they can demonstrate suitable experience for the projects involved.

    What's On Offer

£41,500 to £47,500 basic salary, depending on experience and grade.
    Company van.
    Fuel card.
    Company phone.
23 days' annual leave plus bank holidays.
    Travel allowance.
    Overtime opportunities to increase earnings.
    Full uniform and PPE provided.
