How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Carry out routine pre-use equipment inspections and report any faults or defects immediately.
Follow all site safety procedures, risk assessments and safe systems of work.
Ensure all freight damage, vehicle damage, equipment defects and poorly presented loads are reported to the appropriate manager or department.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment by promptly removing floor hazards, including pallet debris, banding, plastic wrap and spillages.
Communicate professionally with customer vehicle drivers and colleagues when required.
Ensure segregation barriers are correctly positioned and drivers are in a safe location before loading or unloading operations begin.
Use all warehouse equipment responsibly and in accordance with site procedures and prevailing conditions.
Support the efficient movement of inbound and outbound freight.
Contribute to a positive health and safety culture and support the company's operational goals and values.
Work effectively as part of a team to maintain productivity and meet operational deadlines.

    Requirements

Valid and relevant counterbalance forklift truck licence.

Previous experience operating a counterbalance forklift in a warehouse or logistics environment.
Good understanding of warehouse operations, freight handling, loading and unloading procedures.
Strong awareness of health and safety practices.
Ability to identify and report damaged goods, equipment faults and potential hazards.
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
Reliable, punctual and committed to maintaining consistent attendance.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet operational targets.
Physically capable of carrying out warehouse duties, including manual handling where required.
Basic IT and numeracy skills for stock handling and warehouse documentation.
Full driving licence and own transport, or another reliable means of driving to the site, due to the location and shift times.

Competitive pay rate of £15.00 per hour.
    Temporary-to-permanent employment opportunity.

    The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, follows instructions carefully and understands the importance of safety, accuracy and teamwork.
