How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Cable Route Design Engineer

Remote, with regular site travel UK-wide

    £50,000 - £65,000 + Car Allowance + Hybrid Working + Flexible Hours + Progression + Hands-on Development + Great Benefits

Are you a Cable Route Design Engineer, Route Development Engineer or Feasibility Engineer looking to take ownership of route development on major UK infrastructure projects, in a role that blends technical engineering with stakeholder engagement and project coordination?

On offer is a technically focused position where you will lead route development and feasibility work for infrastructure projects, with a flexible hybrid setup and nationwide travel for site visits and client meetings as required.

You will be joining a growing, modern infrastructure and digital insights business known for the quality of its data-led approach and the way it supports its people with hands-on development and clear technical or leadership progression routes. As a result of continued growth and a stronger focus on design-led delivery, they are now looking to add to their specialist team.

In this role you will assess viable route corridors, review technical and environmental constraints, utilise mapping / GIS tools, coordinate site investigations and work closely with clients, landowners and local authorities to support projects from concept through to approval.

This role would suit a Cable Route Design Engineer with route feasibility experience in utilities / power infrastructure, looking for a long-term position with varied projects, autonomy and genuine development opportunities.

    The Role:

Lead route feasibility studies for transmission and distribution / infrastructure projects
Identify and evaluate route corridors using GIS / mapping tools, engineering assessments and site investigations
Engage with stakeholders (clients, landowners, local authorities and utility providers)
Hybrid / remote with nationwide travel for site visits and client meetings
    The Person:

Experience in route development / feasibility / infrastructure planning (utilities / power / major infrastructure)
Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar
Strong stakeholder management, communication and coordination skills
    Full UK driving licence
    Reference Number: BBBH(phone number removed)
