How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Surveyor - Residential Infrastructure

MRICS / AssoRICS - Full time - Northamptonshire Based

We're looking for an ambitious MRICS or AssocRICS Surveyor to join our specialist residential electricity infrastructure, compulsory purchase and land compensation team. You'll manage your own caseload from first inspection through to settlement, acting as the main surveying lead for clients and helping shape a growing, high‑value workstream.

This role suits someone who enjoys autonomy, commercial thinking and building strong client relationships - and who wants to grow beyond day‑to‑day casework into service development, complex compensation matters and future team leadership.

    What you'll do

Manage residential easement, land rights and compensation cases end‑to‑end

Carry out inspections and prepare professional submissions and reports

Negotiate offers, settlements and compensation outcomes

Provide clear technical advice to clients and resolve case issues

Build strong relationships with clients, network operators and partners

Support business development, identify new opportunities and help diversify the workstream

    About you

    Essential

    MRICS or AssocRICS

    5+ years' post‑qualification experience

Residential surveying or compulsory purchase background

    Strong inspection and reporting skills

    Confident client communicator

Organised, proactive and able to manage a caseload independently

Commercially aware and comfortable growing client relationships

    Desirable

    Valuation experience

Development appraisal or development impact knowledge

    HomeBuyer Report experience

Understanding of utilities, infrastructure, wayleaves or easements

Experience mentoring junior surveyors / APC support

    Career progression

This role is designed for someone who wants to build a workstream, not just manage one.

    You'll have the opportunity to:

    Grow the residential EHV service

Support expansion into non‑residential infrastructure work

Take on more complex, higher‑value cases

Help shape new services and routes to market

Mentor junior surveyors and support recruitment

Progress towards team leadership and long‑term director potential

    Who you are

    Entrepreneurial, commercially minded and proactive

    Comfortable taking ownership and accountability

Keen to help shape a growing specialist practice

Collaborative and supportive within a small, dynamic team
    Salary description

    £35000.00 - £45000.00 per year
