Escape Recruitment is working with Volvo CE to recruit a Metal Cleaner for its manufacturing site in Motherwell. You don't need previous shotblasting experience. If you have experience using power tools and are keen to learn, training will be provided.

£14.70 per hour
35 hours per week, Monday to Thursday
Four-day working week
Six-month temporary contract, employed directly by Volvo CE
Training to develop your skills in metal preparation and shotblasting
Potential for longer-term employment, although this is not guaranteed
The role
You'll prepare fabricated metal parts and assemblies for painting, helping achieve the required finish. Your duties will include:
Using grinders, sanders and other hand and power tools.
Removing weld spatter and marks from metal surfaces.
Learning to operate shotblasting equipment.
Following work instructions, quality standards and safety procedures.
Keeping your work area clean and organised.
What we're looking for
Experience using power tools is the key starting point. You could come from manufacturing, construction, demolition, labouring, engineering or another practical role.
You'll need a reliable approach, a willingness to learn and an understanding of safe working practices. The role involves physical work and may require working at height.
