Residential Experience Officer – Northamptonshire

Salary: £24,900 – £26,400 per annum
Location: Northamptonshire
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, approximately 2pm – 9pm

Think FE are working with a well-established and supportive college in Northamptonshire to recruit a Residential Experience Officer to join their student support team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people, building positive relationships and creating an environment where students feel safe, valued and supported.

You'll play a key role in making residential life a positive and rewarding experience, helping students develop independence, confidence and a sense of belonging.

What You'll Be Doing

Creating a welcoming, inclusive and safe residential environment for students.
Organising and supervising social, sporting and volunteering activities to encourage student participation and community engagement.
Providing pastoral support and acting as a trusted point of contact for students with personal or welfare concerns.
Promoting positive behaviour, independence and student wellbeing.
Following safeguarding, health and safety and college policies to maintain a secure and respectful environment.
Working closely with colleagues, parents and external agencies to ensure students receive appropriate support.
What We're Looking For

Excellent communication and active listening skills.
Experience working in a similar residential, pastoral, youth work or student support role.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Confidence in addressing challenging behaviours calmly and professionally.
A supportive, empathetic approach and the ability to build positive relationships.
A strong commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion.
