This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within quality, particularly if you have a background in manufacturing, engineering, production, assembly or machine operation and are ready to take the next step into a more specialised technical role.
You don't need to have an established career in quality to be considered. The hiring manager is open to candidates who demonstrate the right attitude, enthusiasm to learn, attention to detail and a genuine interest in developing their skills. If you take pride in your work, enjoy solving problems and want to build your technical knowledge, this could be an ideal opportunity to progress your career.
Working alongside Production, Engineering and Quality colleagues, you will gain exposure to product inspection, quality processes, technical documentation and continuous improvement within an engineering and manufacturing environment.
As a Quality Technician, you will support quality activities throughout the manufacturing process, helping to ensure products meet the required standards and specifications.
The role will involve inspecting components, checking products against technical drawings and specifications, maintaining accurate records and helping identify and resolve quality issues. You will also work closely with colleagues across the business to support improvements in product quality and manufacturing processes.
Full consideration will be given to candidates with transferable experience who are keen to learn and develop within the role.
Key Responsibilities
Support incoming, in-process and final product inspections to ensure products meet the required specifications.
Check components and finished products against engineering drawings, technical documentation and work instructions.
Carry out basic measurements, product checks and testing using appropriate inspection equipment.
Assist with first-off inspections and other product verification activities.
Identify and report defects, discrepancies or products that do not meet the required standards.
Help maintain accurate inspection records, test results and quality documentation.
Support investigations into production issues and help identify opportunities to prevent recurring defects.
Assist with re-inspection and verification checks following rework or repair.
Work collaboratively with Production and Engineering teams to resolve issues and maintain product standards.
Follow established procedures and contribute to a safe, organised and quality-focused working environment.
Develop knowledge of quality procedures, inspection methods and continuous improvement practices. We're interested in people who have the right foundations to develop into a successful Quality Technician. You may already have experience in manufacturing or engineering, or you may be looking for an opportunity to move into a more technical role.
You could be a good fit if you have:
Experience in a manufacturing, engineering, production, assembly, machine operation or similar hands-on environment.
Good attention to detail and pride in producing accurate, high-quality work.
The ability to follow instructions, procedures and technical requirements.
An interest in understanding how things work and identifying when something isn't right.
A practical, methodical approach to problem-solving.
Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
A positive attitude, willingness to learn and motivation to develop new skills.Previous experience in a dedicated quality role is not essential. Experience checking your own work, inspecting components, working to drawings, recording information, spotting defects or following manufacturing procedures would all be valuable but not essential.
Why Apply?
This is an opportunity to join an established engineering and manufacturing business that is willing to invest in the right person and support their development into a quality-focused role.
Rather than needing to have everything in place from day one, you'll have the opportunity to build on your existing experience, develop new technical skills and broaden your understanding of quality within a manufacturing environment.
If you have a background in manufacturing, production or engineering and are keen to learn, we'd be interested in hearing from you.
