How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Ready to make your mark in a growing energy business?

Global Highland is recruiting on behalf of our client for an ambitious, customer-focused Outbound Telesales Executive to play a key role in the growth of an exciting new electricity proposition.

This is more than a traditional telesales role. It’s an opportunity to join a successful, employee-owned Scottish business with an established reputation for trust, reliability and outstanding customer service, while helping to build the next chapter of its growth.

You’ll be at the forefront of introducing customers to a fresh approach to domestic electricity supply, combining competitive tariffs with something increasingly valued by customers: personal service, honest advice and the reassurance of speaking to people who understand their local communities.

If you’re commercially minded, enjoy building relationships over the phone and want to be part of a business with genuine ambitions for the future, this could be the opportunity you’ve been looking for.

    The opportunity

As Outbound Telesales Executive, you’ll play an important role in growing the customer base and strengthening relationships with existing customers.

Working with both established customers and new prospects, you’ll introduce the electricity proposition, understand individual customer needs and turn sales opportunities into long-term supply contracts.

You’ll also take ownership of customer renewal opportunities, helping to retain existing customers by demonstrating the value of the service and ensuring they continue to receive the support they expect.

This is a role for someone who understands that successful sales are built on more than targets and call volumes. You’ll combine a proactive approach with genuine conversations, thoughtful follow-up and a commitment to doing right by the customer.

    What you’ll be doing

    *

Generating new business: Making outbound calls to prospective customers and introducing the benefits of switching to a trusted Scottish energy supplier.

    *

Growing existing relationships: Engaging with established customers to identify opportunities to introduce them to electricity services.

    *

Converting sales opportunities: Understanding customer requirements, addressing questions and guiding prospects through to successful contract completion.

    *

Driving customer retention: Managing renewal conversations, following up on opportunities and helping existing customers remain with the business.

    *

Building lasting relationships: Developing rapport through a professional, approachable and consultative telephone manner.

    *

Managing your sales pipeline: Using CRM systems to record activity, maintain accurate customer information and ensure timely follow-ups.

    *

Achieving targets: Working towards agreed sales, conversion and retention objectives while maintaining high standards of customer care.

    *

Representing the brand: Bringing a customer-first approach to every conversation and reflecting the values of trust, integrity and personal service.

    What makes this opportunity different?

Joining a growing energy proposition gives you the chance to do more than step into an established sales role. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to the development of a business, build your commercial expertise and see the impact of your work as the customer base expands.

Our client is part of a well-established, employee-owned Scottish energy group with almost 70 years of experience serving customers across mainland Scotland and its island communities.

That heritage provides a strong foundation, but the electricity proposition has its sights firmly set on the future: offering customers a genuine alternative to large national suppliers through competitive tariffs and a more personal approach to service.

As part of the team, you’ll help bring that proposition to life, making a direct contribution to business growth while building relationships with customers who value straightforward advice and local support.

    What we’re looking for

We’re looking for a confident, motivated sales professional who enjoys speaking to people, takes ownership of their results and understands the importance of building trust with every customer.

    You’ll ideally have:

    *

Previous experience in outbound telesales, customer acquisition, sales or customer retention.

    *

A confident and engaging telephone manner, with the ability to build rapport quickly.

    *

A consultative approach to selling, focused on understanding customer needs and communicating value.

    *

Experience using CRM systems and maintaining an organised sales pipeline.

    *

Strong planning and follow-up skills, ensuring opportunities are managed effectively from initial contact through to completion.

    *

A target-driven mindset, with the motivation to achieve sales and retention objectives.

    *

A proactive attitude and the resilience to work in a busy, commercially focused environment.

    *

A genuine commitment to excellent customer service, honesty and professional integrity.

Experience in the energy or utilities sector would be advantageous, but above all, we’re looking for someone who combines commercial drive with a genuine interest in helping customers make informed decisions.

You’ll thrive in this role if you enjoy winning business through conversation, building relationships that last and delivering results without compromising on customer experience.

    What’s in it for you?

    *

An opportunity to make an impact: Play a key role in the growth of an exciting new electricity proposition.

    *

A strong business behind you: Join an established Scottish energy group with a long-standing reputation for reliability and customer service.

    *

A chance to shape the future: Contribute to the development of a growing business and help establish lasting customer relationships.

    *

A values-led culture: Be part of an employee-owned organisation that puts trust, integrity and customer care at the heart of its approach.

    *

Career development: Build your sales, negotiation and customer relationship skills, with opportunities to develop as the business grows.

    *

A rewarding sales challenge: Combine new business generation, customer retention and relationship management in one varied role.

Ready to take the next step?

If you’re a proactive telesales professional who enjoys turning conversations into opportunities and wants to be part of something with genuine growth potential, we’d love to hear from you.

This is your chance to bring your sales skills to a business that believes great customer service still matters and to help shape the future of an exciting proposition in the energy market
