How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Ready to turn your people skills into a rewarding career?

Global Highland is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our client for a motivated, customer-focused Sales & Customer Service Advisor to join a successful and friendly team based in Inverness.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business within the energy sector, where no two days are quite the same. Whether you’re an experienced sales professional looking for your next challenge or someone ready to take the first step into a new career, this role offers the chance to develop your skills, build lasting customer relationships and make a real impact.

With full training, ongoing support and opportunities for further professional development, you’ll have everything you need to build your confidence and grow your career.

    What you’ll be doing

Working as part of a busy, supportive sales team, you’ll play an important role in delivering an excellent customer experience while helping the business attract new customers and grow existing relationships.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    *

Building customer relationships through professional, friendly and proactive telephone communication.

    *

Driving sales opportunities by making outbound calls to prospective customers and responding to inbound enquiries.

    *

Delivering outstanding service by understanding customer needs and recommending suitable products and services.

    *

Keeping customers informed about the latest prices, offers and deals.

    *

Processing customer orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring a smooth experience from enquiry through to order.

    *

Supporting business growth by identifying opportunities to win new customers and contribute to sales and margin targets.

    *

Working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve team objectives and maintain high service standards.

    What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone with a positive attitude, plenty of enthusiasm and a genuine desire to deliver great customer service while achieving results.

    You’ll ideally bring:

    *

A confident, professional and engaging telephone manner.

    *

Excellent communication skills and an outgoing personality.

    *

Good keyboard skills and the ability to work accurately with customer information and orders.

    *

A proactive, commercially minded approach to sales and customer engagement.

    *

A strong work ethic, with the motivation to achieve targets and contribute to team success.

    *

The ability to stay focused, organised and positive in a fast-paced environment.

    *

A flexible, team-focused attitude and the confidence to take initiative.

Previous experience in sales or customer service would be beneficial, but attitude, drive and a willingness to learn are just as important. If you’re looking for a fresh start and are excited by the prospect of developing a career in the energy industry, we’d love to hear from you.

    What’s in it for you?

    *

Permanent employment with an established business.

    *

Full training and ongoing support to help you succeed in the role.

    *

Career development opportunities, including access to further professional training.

    *

A friendly, collaborative team environment where your contribution matters.

    *

A varied and engaging role combining customer service, relationship building and sales.

    *

The opportunity to develop valuable commercial skills and build a long-term career.
