How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

McGill Microwave Systems supplies specialist radio frequency (RF) and microwave products that help keep technology connected. Based in Kirkcaldy they are a leading distributor of Times Microwave Systems products in the UK and Europe, the business supplies a combination of internationally recognised brands and its own McGill Microwave range to customers across the globe.

Their approach is about understanding what customers are trying to achieve and helping them find the right solution. By combining specialist technical knowledge with responsive, personal service, the team builds lasting relationships and supports customers from their initial enquiry through to delivery.

With a welcoming team, a collaborative working environment and opportunities to develop your product knowledge, McGill offers the chance to build a career in a specialist technology business where your ideas and contribution are valued.

We are supporting the business to recruit a Customer Account Manager who will build international customer relationships and make a visible contribution to the company’s continued growth.

    You will:

    *

Respond to incoming enquiries generated through the website and marketing activity.

    *

Speak with customers by phone and email to understand their requirements.

    *

Prepare quotations and follow up to turn enquiries into orders.

    *

Look beyond the initial request to identify additional products or solutions that could help.

    *

Work closely with technical and operations colleagues to deliver excellent service.

    *

Stay organised and keep customers informed throughout the enquiry and order process.

You could come from internal sales, account management or business-to-business customer service. What matters is that you enjoy speaking with people, have commercial curiosity and take ownership of customer enquiries. You do not need to arrive as an RF or microwave expert. Product training will help you build that knowledge, supported by an experienced team. A willingness to learn, ask good questions and understand the detail will be key.

With incoming enquiries creating the opportunities, your focus will be on offering helpful advice, developing business and giving customers a reason to come back.

This truly is a fantastic opportunity working in a friendly, supportive environment and working for a business that values their employees. The company has achieved an incredible amount since inception and with an energetic leadership team this role would be ideal for someone looking to develop their career in both a technical and commercial environment.

The role is site based with an attractive salary and benefits package
