How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Do you want to join a growing, passionate team dedicated to helping survivors of domestic abuse live safer, healthier lives?

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and resilient Manager to join Derbyshire WISH, leading and supporting teams that provide vital refuge and community-based services to adults and children affected by domestic abuse.

    Who are Derbyshire WISH?

Derbyshire WISH provides Ofsted Regulated refuge and community based (outreach) care and support to adults and children who are experiencing domestic abuse. We’re part of the wider NCHA family and we offer our services to both women and men (dispersed only) with or without children who are fleeing domestic abuse and need a safe place to stay, and to those out in the community who are living with the impact of domestic abuse.

    About the role

As a Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring our services remain safe, effective and responsive to the needs of those we support. We are looking for a strong and knowledgeable leader who leads by example, works collaboratively with others and is passionate about achieving positive outcomes for survivors.

You will provide leadership and direction to frontline teams, supporting colleagues to deliver high-quality services while working closely with the wider management team to drive continuous improvement across the organisation.

    What you'll be doing

    * Leading, developing and line managing Refuge, Outreach and Children & Young People's (CYP) teams

    * Managing performance, wellbeing, training and professional development needs

    * Overseeing the day-to-day operation and business continuity of refuge services

    * Building and maintaining positive relationships with external partners and stakeholders

    * Ensuring compliance with safeguarding, health and safety and operational requirements

    * Supporting recruitment, induction and workforce planning activities

    About you

We are looking for someone who:

    * Has strong leadership skills and can motivate, support and develop teams

    * Has a sound knowledge and understanding of domestic abuse and victim support services

    * Is resilient, flexible and able to remain calm under pressure

    * Leads by example and is committed to high standards of service delivery

    * Is a team player who can build strong working relationships with colleagues and external partners

    * Has experience supporting survivors of domestic abuse

    * Has experience managing frontline support staff within a social support, housing or victim services environment

You will need experience in Domestic Abuse and case management. And completed / working towards a minimum of NVQ level 3 or new QCF Diploma level 3 in Management or Leadership, Health and Social Care, Housing or another relevant qualification or experience at Level 3.

A Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential to the role, unless a disability precludes this.

This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, primarily Monday to Friday. Some evening and weekend working may be required to meet the needs of the service.

If you are a compassionate, resilient person looking to make a meaningful difference to the lives of adults and children affected by domestic abuse, we'd love to hear from you.

This role requires an Enhanced with Adult and Child’s barred list DBS check, which will be arranged and funded by NCHA. Successful applicants will also be required to undergo a DVLA licence check as part of NCHA's pre-employment screening process
