How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

SEMH Teaching Assistant for supportive schools in Warrington!

    Location - Warrington

    Role - SEMH Teaching Assistant

Pay - £93-£105 (based on experience)

Academics are currently seeking a proactive and dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a range of specialist schools in Warrington! If you are passionate about supporting children with additional needs and have previous classroom experience, we would love to hear from you!

The schools are looking for individuals who genuinely care about the wellbeing of children who have social and emotional challenges, who can assist in the delivery of engaging education that is tailored to their individual interests and needs.

    The Role:

Classroom support - Assisting students with their class work, as well as helping deliver therepeutic support to students with sensory and emotional needs.

Safeguarding - Prioritising the safety and wellbeing of students at all times. Any concerns must be reported to the designated safeguarding lead.

Behaviour management - Appropriately de-escalating and responding to challenging behaviour when necessary.

    About You:

Experience - Previous classroom experience is essential. We are also looking for past experience working with children with additional needs, with knowledge of children's mental health, Autism, and other neurodiversities.

Behaviour management - Knowledge of de-escalation techniques is advantageous, and past experience working with students with challenging behaviour would be ideal.

Warrington based - Based in the Warrington area, or can access it easily.

Patient and caring - The children in these schools have additional needs in some form. A SEMH Teaching Assistant must be calm, patient and caring towards the children and be able to understand them.

Enhanced background check - You must have an enhanced background check to work in schools. If you do not already have one, you must be willing to apply for one through us.

    Benefits:

Flexibility - Academics offer flexible work to fit around your commitments. We have day-to-day, short term and long term contracts based on your availability.

Building experience - We are passionate about helping aspiring teachers and teaching assistants build their experience in the classroom. By trialing different schools, you can determine what type of school you prefer longer term.

Potential for permanent - There is the possibility to get a permanent role within a school if you are the right fit.

Supportive consultant - You will have a dedicated consultant to guide you through the registration process and to find roles based on your preferences and experience.

If you would love to become a SEMH Teaching Assistant and help remove the barriers children with SEMH have towards their learning and development, apply with your CV today!

Salary will be determined by the successful candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, and will be in accordance with the client's pay policy
