How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Fabricator Welder

Our client is a small, well-established fabrication business based in Nottingham NG14, producing made-to-order work across a range of contracts, including bespoke one-off fabrications, drum stands, and a high volume of work supporting Severn Trent Water (e.g., handrails and on-site work). We're looking to recruit an experienced Welder Fabricator / Site Welder (MIG) to join the team; this is a hands-on role covering workshop fabrication and local site work (typically 70% shop floor / 30% site), all within Nottinghamshire with no overnight stays. You'll be welding and fabricating from scratch, working mainly with mild steel (around 90%) and average thickness 3mm-15mm, and you must be confident working to engineering drawings.

Pay & Hours: £16.00-£17.00 per hour (DOE) | Monday-Friday 08:00-17:00, 30 minutes unpaid lunch + 15 minutes paid break. Overtime is paid at time and a third.

Benefits: 20 days holiday + bank holidays and standard pension. If the role includes site work, you will report to the Thurgarton base first and then use a company van to travel to local jobs; the site option will still include some workshop work.
