How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Electrical Workshop Supervisor

    Location: Braintree, Essex

    Salary: £40,000 per annum

    Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

We're recruiting for an experienced Electrical Workshop Supervisor to join an established electrical manufacturing business in Braintree.

This is an opportunity for someone with a strong electrical assembly or panel-building background who enjoys leading people, organising production and driving high standards across a busy workshop.

You'll take responsibility for the day-to-day running of an electrical assembly workshop, ensuring production targets are met without compromising on safety, quality or workmanship.

    What you'll be doing

    * Supervising and supporting a team of electrical assemblers and panel wirers.

    * Planning daily workloads, allocating resources and managing production priorities.

    * Overseeing the assembly, wiring and testing of low-voltage electrical distribution panels.

    * Ensuring work meets technical drawings, specifications and quality standards.

    * Monitoring production output, identifying bottlenecks and resolving issues.

    * Supporting staff development, training and continuous improvement.

    * Maintaining high standards of workshop safety, organisation and efficiency.

    What we're looking for

    * Previous supervisory or team leadership experience within electrical assembly, panel building or a similar technical manufacturing environment.

    * Strong hands-on knowledge of electrical panel wiring, switchgear and low-voltage distribution systems.

    * Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical drawings.

    * Good understanding of electrical testing, quality control and workshop safety.

    * Experience organising production schedules, allocating workloads and managing people.

    * Confident communicator who can lead from the front and make decisions.

We're looking for someone who brings both technical electrical expertise and proven leadership experience, with the ability to take ownership of workshop operations from day one.
