How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Project Installation Manager
    Location: Rugby, Warwickshire
    Job Type: Full-Time

    About the Role
We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Project Installation Manager to manage engineering installation projects from initial planning through to completion and customer handover.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong engineering, fabrication or mechanical installation background who enjoys being out on site, managing installation teams and taking ownership of projects.

This is a practical, site-based role rather than a traditional office-based Project Management position. You will spend significant time at customer sites, overseeing installation activities, coordinating engineers and subcontractors, resolving technical issues and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have progressed from a practical engineering background into site supervision, installation management or project delivery.

    Key Responsibilities
Manage engineering and installation projects from planning through to completion and handover.
Attend customer sites to carry out surveys, measurements and pre-installation checks.
Read and interpret engineering, fabrication and installation drawings.
Plan labour, materials, equipment, access requirements and installation sequences.
Coordinate engineers, fabricators, welders, fitters and subcontractors.
Liaise with workshop and production teams to ensure fabricated components are ready for installation.
Supervise installation teams and provide practical support on site.
Monitor project progress, deadlines, workmanship and quality standards.
Identify and resolve technical and practical installation issues.
Liaise directly with customers and provide regular project updates.
Manage project variations and additional works.
Ensure installations meet drawings, specifications and customer requirements.
Manage RAMS, site inductions, permits and Health & Safety requirements.
Carry out final inspections, snagging and project handovers.
Maintain accurate project records and site documentation.
    About You
Ideally, you will have experience in engineering, fabrication, mechanical installation, structural steelwork or industrial installation projects.

You may currently be working as an Installation Supervisor, Site Manager, Engineering Supervisor, Fabrication Supervisor or Project Manager with a strong practical engineering background.

    You will be:

Hands-on, technically minded and confident working on customer sites.
Experienced in coordinating and managing installation teams.
Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Familiar with fabrication, welding and mechanical installation processes.
Confident carrying out site surveys and taking accurate measurements.
Organised, with the ability to plan installations and manage competing priorities.
A practical problem-solver who can make decisions on site.
Confident communicating directly with customers and subcontractors.
Familiar with RAMS and site Health & Safety requirements.
Willing to travel to customer sites as required.
Proactive, accountable and committed to seeing projects through to successful completion.
A full UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications such as SMSTS, SSSTS, CSCS, IPAF, PASMA or relevant lifting and rigging qualifications would be advantageous.

    Important Information
This position is best suited to someone who enjoys being involved in the practical side of engineering installations.

You must be comfortable wearing PPE, attending customer sites, working alongside engineers, checking installations, resolving technical problems and ensuring the work is completed correctly, safely and to the required standard.

Previous hands-on experience within engineering, fabrication, mechanical installation or an industrial environment is highly desirable.

    The Opportunity
This is an opportunity to take ownership of engineering installation projects, work closely with experienced engineering teams and play a key role in delivering successful projects for customers.

The role offers variety, responsibility and the opportunity to combine practical engineering knowledge with project coordination, team leadership and customer management.

    Apply Now
If you have a practical engineering background, enjoy managing installation teams and take pride in delivering projects properly from start to finish, we would like to hear from you.
