How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    * Keep growing – free CPD to sharpen your skills.
    About the Role:
Support learners with SEN and SEMH needs through personalised tuition in all areas of their learning including Maths, English, Science, Humanities and any of subject you can teach, helping them build knowledge, confidence and positive learning habits.
    Key Responsibilities:
    * Deliver tailored tuition in any subjects you can teach.
    * Adapt your teaching style to meet each learner's individual needs.
    * Support learners to overcome barriers to education and achieve their goals.
    * Keep accurate progress records and liaise with parents/guardians, schools or learners where appropriate.
    * Follow Tuition Extra's safeguarding policies at all times.
    What We're Looking For:
    * Strong knowledge and confidence in tutoring.
    * Experience working with children and young people, particularly those with SEN and/or SEMH needs.
    * Teaching, tutoring, mentoring, youth work or support work experience valued.
    * SEN training or experience.
Job Type: Part-time, self-employed, weekdays only, term time.
    Our Commitment to Safeguarding:
We're committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expect all tutors to share this commitment. You'll need to:
    * Hold, or be willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS check – we can arrange this, or you can provide your own for verification.
    * Provide satisfactory references and complete safeguarding training.
    * Attend an online or face-to-face interview and provide proof of ID and right to work in the UK.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
