How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

A growing multidisciplinary construction consultancy is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their London team. The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will work across a varied portfolio of projects, including residential, commercial, education and public-sector schemes.

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will take responsibility for their own commissions, delivering projects from early feasibility and cost planning through procurement, construction and final account.

Working alongside experienced Directors and wider consultancy teams, the Senior Quantity Surveyor will provide clear commercial advice to clients while maintaining strong control over cost, risk and procurement. The role offers the opportunity to work within a genuinely multidisciplinary environment and gain exposure to projects at different stages of development.

This would suit a Senior Quantity Surveyor who is confident managing clients and projects independently but still wants a clear route towards Associate level. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will also support junior surveyors and play an active role in maintaining high standards across the cost management team.

    The Senior Quantity Surveyor

Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline

Strong UK PQS / construction consultancy experience

MRICS qualified or actively working towards chartership

Proven pre- and post-contract cost management experience

Confident producing cost plans, tender documentation and procurement advice

Strong knowledge of JCT contracts and UK procurement routes

Experience across residential, commercial, education or public-sector projects

Able to manage valuations, variations and final accounts independently

Strong client-facing, reporting and communication skills

    Comfortable mentoring junior Quantity Surveyors

Ambitious Senior Quantity Surveyor looking to progress towards Associate level

    In Return

    £70,000 - £85,000 per annum

    London-based position

    Broad multi-sector project exposure

    Multidisciplinary consultancy environment

    Direct client and project responsibility

    Professional development and chartership support

Opportunity to mentor junior team members

    Clear progression towards Associate level

Long-term career development within a growing consultancy
