How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

High Speed Two Ltd is looking for a Document Controller to join its established team, helping manage the critical engineering and project information required to deliver the future high speed railway.

This is an opportunity to work within a complex, multidisciplinary environment where accurate document control is essential to ensuring that information is accessible, traceable, properly approved and available when project teams need it.

You will work with engineers, project teams and other stakeholders to ensure documents are managed consistently throughout the project lifecycle, supporting effective information management and the successful delivery of HS2.

    The Role

You will manage project documentation using an Electronic Document Management System (EDMS), ensuring records are correctly filed, controlled, archived and retrieved.

Working with colleagues across the business, you will support document approvals, maintain accurate records and help ensure that document control processes and standards are consistently applied.

You will also provide guidance to stakeholders on document control procedures and system use, helping maintain high standards of information management across the organisation.

    What You Will Do

    * Manage the filing, archiving and retrieval of project documentation using the EDMS (enterprise bridge eB)

    * Ensure documents are correctly controlled, approved and accessible through the Integrated Management System.

    * Maintain accurate corporate records and document registers.

    * Produce management information and reports to support project teams and stakeholders.

    * Support users with document control processes, procedures and EDMS functionality.

    * Help maintain document management standards, records retention requirements and consistent ways of working.

    * Work with stakeholders to resolve document control queries and ensure information is managed effectively.

    * Identify opportunities to improve document control processes and maintain the quality and accuracy of project records.

    About You

We are looking for an organised and detail focused Document Controller with experience in an engineering, construction or infrastructure environment.

You will understand the importance of document control on complex projects, where accurate records, effective approvals and reliable information management are essential.

You will be comfortable working with electronic document management systems, managing competing priorities and communicating with stakeholders across different teams.

    Essential Experience

    * Experience in document control within an engineering, construction or infrastructure environment.

    * Knowledge of electronic document management systems and document control procedures.

    * Experience using Bentley Enterprise Bridge (eB) and Microsoft Office 365.

    * Strong IT skills, ideally including SharePoint and related technologies.

    * Understanding of document management standards, records retention and document approval processes.

    * Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

    * Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to support stakeholders and manage competing priorities.

    Build Your Career With HS2

Joining HS2 offers the opportunity to develop your document control expertise within a major infrastructure programme, working alongside experienced information management and engineering professionals.

With around 10 years of programme work ahead, this offers the potential to build long term experience and develop your career within HS2.

There is a clear progression route into Document Control Manager, with a salary of £42,000 to £47,684 plus 12% employer pension contribution, healthcare and 25 days holiday.

For an experienced Document Controller looking to strengthen their skills, take on greater responsibility and develop a long term career in infrastructure, this is an excellent opportunity to join HS2
