Job Description
We are currently looking for an experienced Groundworks Foreman to join a construction project in Manchester.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in groundworks and civil engineering, with experience supervising site operatives, coordinating subcontractors and ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
We are looking for a hands-on Foreman who can take responsibility for the day-to-day running of groundworks operations, maintain productivity on site and work closely with the Site Manager to ensure the project is delivered in line with programme requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise and coordinate daily groundworks operations.
* Manage groundworkers, subcontractors, plant and materials.
* Oversee drainage, foundations, ducting, kerbing, roads and associated infrastructure works.
* Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with drawings, specifications and programme requirements.
* Maintain high standards of health and safety across the site.
* Conduct toolbox talks and daily briefings where required.
* Monitor productivity and ensure labour and plant are used efficiently.
* Coordinate deliveries and material requirements.
* Liaise with the Site Manager and other trades to maintain progress.
* Check workmanship and ensure all works meet the required quality standards.
* Ensure compliance with RAMS and site procedures.
* Identify and resolve day-to-day site issues to minimise delays.
Requirements
* Previous experience as a Groundworks Foreman within construction or civil engineering.
* Strong knowledge of general groundworks, drainage and infrastructure.
* Valid CSCS card.
* SSSTS or SMSTS qualification.
* Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
* Good leadership and communication skills.
* Strong understanding of health and safety procedures.
* A proactive, organised and hands-on approach to site management.
