How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

MMP Consultancy is seeking an experienced Damp & Mould Manager for a permanent opportunity based in Kingston upon Thames. This position offers a salary of £60,000 per annum plus a comprehensive benefits package and provides the opportunity to join a leading maintenance contractor delivering services across a major social housing contract.

This is a newly created role, offering the opportunity to build processes, shape service delivery and establish a proactive approach to damp, mould and condensation management. Working closely with residents, housing teams, surveyors, contractors and senior stakeholders, you'll lead the investigation, management and resolution of damp and mould cases, ensuring residents receive a responsive, customer-focused and compliant service.

    Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the damp and mould service across a large social housing portfolio.
Ensure all reports of damp, mould, condensation and associated hazards are logged, investigated and resolved effectively.
Develop and implement processes for the identification, prioritisation and management of damp and mould cases.
Ensure investigations identify the root cause of issues rather than relying on surface-level treatments.
Oversee diagnostic inspections relating to ventilation, heating, insulation, water ingress, building defects and structural issues.
Ensure remedial works are correctly specified and completed to the required quality standards.
Monitor cases through to completion and ensure appropriate follow-up actions are undertaken.
Identify recurring trends and recommend long-term investment or planned maintenance solutions.
Manage contractors and service providers to ensure timely and effective resolution of cases.
Provide performance monitoring and reporting to senior management.
Respond to complaints, enquiries and escalated cases relating to damp and mould.
Work closely with housing management, repairs and property services teams to deliver a coordinated service.
Ensure vulnerable residents receive appropriate support and communication throughout the lifecycle of a case.
Promote a positive culture focused on resident wellbeing, accountability and service excellence.
    Requirements:

Significant experience within social housing, property services, repairs, maintenance or asset management.
Proven experience managing damp, mould and condensation cases within residential properties.
Strong understanding of building pathology and the underlying causes of damp and mould.
Knowledge of ventilation systems, heating systems, insulation and building defects.
Experience managing complex property-related cases from initial report through to resolution.
Experience managing contractors, consultants or service providers.
Strong understanding of social housing legislation and housing health and safety requirements.
Experience analysing performance information and producing management reports.
Strong stakeholder management and resident engagement skills.
    Excellent communication and complaint-handling abilities.
Knowledge of risk assessment and case prioritisation processes.
Ability to develop new processes and drive continuous service improvement.
    Benefits:

    Salary of £60,000 per annum.
    Comprehensive benefits package.
Opportunity to build and develop a brand-new service area.
Long-term career development within a leading social housing maintenance contractor.
Chance to make a significant impact on resident wellbeing and housing standards.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Damp & Mould Manager, Senior Surveyor or Property Services Manager looking to take ownership of a high-profile service and drive meaningful improvements across a major social housing contract
