Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across relevant secondary school year groups.
Teach key areas of the English curriculum, including reading, writing, grammar, language, and literature.
Develop students' analytical, comprehension, and creative writing skills.
Adapt lessons to meet the needs of students with different abilities and learning styles.
Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support academic achievement.
Prepare students for assessments and examinations, including GCSE English Language and Literature where applicable.
Maintain high standards of classroom behaviour and promote a positive, inclusive learning environment.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum development and raise student attainment.
Follow school policies and safeguarding procedures at all times.
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification is desirable.
A strong subject knowledge and genuine passion for English language and literature.
Experience teaching English at secondary school level is desirable.
The ability to plan and deliver creative, engaging, and differentiated lessons.
Strong classroom management and communication skills.
The ability to motivate students and build positive relationships.
A commitment to raising attainment and supporting students of all abilities.
Availability to start ASAP.
