How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    About the Role

As an SEN Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging, differentiated and accessible lessons tailored to the individual needs, abilities and learning styles of pupils with ASD and SEMH. You will create a structured, inclusive and nurturing classroom environment where pupils feel safe, supported and encouraged to achieve their potential.

Support pupils to access learning, develop essential skills and make meaningful academic progress.
Create a safe, structured, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
Use positive, consistent and trauma-informed approaches to support engagement and emotional regulation.
Develop personalised learning opportunities based on pupils' individual strengths, needs and interests.
Support pupils to develop communication, social, emotional and life skills.
Establish clear routines and consistent expectations to encourage positive behaviour and reduce anxiety.
Monitor, assess and record pupil progress, identifying appropriate next steps.
Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils, promoting engagement, confidence and independence.
Support pupils with emotional regulation, sensory needs and transitions throughout the school day.
Work closely with Teaching Assistants and wider support staff to provide consistent and effective support.
Contribute to EHCP outcomes, individual learning plans and personalised targets.
Maintain high expectations while recognising and celebrating individual achievements.
    About You

The successful SEN Teacher will have:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Experience working with pupils with SEN, particularly ASD and/or SEMH.
A strong understanding of ASD, SEMH and inclusive teaching approaches.
Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
The ability to differentiate and adapt lessons to meet a range of learning needs.
A patient, calm, compassionate and resilient approach.
The ability to build strong, positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
A creative and flexible approach to teaching and learning.
An understanding of emotional regulation, sensory needs, behaviour support and positive reinforcement.
A commitment to supporting pupils' academic, emotional, social and personal development.
A strong understanding of safeguarding and promoting positive outcomes for every learner.
    What We Offer

    In return, we offer:

The opportunity to make a genuine difference to pupils with ASD and SEMH needs.
The chance to work within a supportive specialist SEN setting in Brent.
A collaborative and dedicated staff team.
Ongoing professional development and specialist training opportunities.
A rewarding role where individual progress and achievement are highly valued.

A supportive environment focused on emotional wellbeing, communication, independence, positive behaviour and progress.
If you are a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher who wants to help pupils with ASD and SEMH needs build confidence, develop resilience and reach their full potential, we would love to hear from you.
