How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Type: Permanent

We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor with sprinkler systems experience to join an established fire protection contractor delivering projects across London and the surrounding regions.

The role offers a flexible work-from-home arrangement, with projects ranging from the Midlands to the South Coast. Approximately 70% of the workload is based in London, with the remainder spread across the wider region.

The successful candidate will have a strong commercial background within fire protection, ideally with specific experience in sprinkler installations and associated systems.

    Key Responsibilities

    *

Manage the commercial aspects of sprinkler installation projects from initial tender through to final account.

    *

Prepare and review project valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.

    *

Monitor project costs, budgets, cash flow and profitability.

    *

Assess variations, compensation events and additional works.

    *

Manage subcontractor and supplier accounts, including payments and cost assessments.

    *

Review contracts, identify commercial risks and protect company margins.

    *

Prepare cost reports and provide regular financial updates to the management team.

    *

Work closely with project managers, estimators, clients and subcontractors.

    *

    Support procurement and subcontractor negotiations.

    *

Ensure contractual obligations and commercial deadlines are met.

    *

Manage multiple projects across London, the Midlands and the South Coast.

    Requirements

    *

Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.

    *

Essential experience in sprinkler systems or fire protection projects.

    *

Strong understanding of project costing, valuations, variations and final accounts.

    *

    Good commercial and contractual awareness.

    *

Strong negotiation, communication and organisational skills.

    *

Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently.

    *

Proficient in relevant commercial and cost management systems.

    *

Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites when required.

    What's on Offer?

    *

    Flexible work-from-home arrangement.

    *

Opportunity to work on a varied portfolio of projects.

    *

Projects predominantly based in London, with regional work extending from the Midlands to the South Coast.

    *

Competitive salary and benefits package, dependent on experience.

    *

Opportunity to join an established contractor within the fire protection sector.

If you have Quantity Surveying experience within sprinkler systems and are looking for your next opportunity with flexibility and a varied project portfolio, we would welcome your application
