How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

You will manage the sales process from identifying opportunities and developing customer relationships through to tender submission, commercial negotiation and contract handover.

This is an opportunity for someone with a background in high-voltage switchgear or related electrical power equipment who combines technical understanding with a strong commercial mindset.

    Key Responsibilities

    *

Identify and pursue new sales opportunities while developing existing customer accounts.

    *

Build relationships with utilities, network operators, engineering contractors, infrastructure developers and major end users.

    *

Develop and implement sales plans to increase market share, revenue and order intake.

    *

Identify upcoming projects, tenders and framework opportunities, ensuring the business is well positioned to compete.

    *

Manage customer qualification, supplier registration and tender pre-qualification activities.

    *

Review technical specifications, tender requirements and commercial terms to establish effective bid strategies.

    *

Coordinate with engineering, commercial and internal sales teams to prepare competitive proposals and quotations.

    *

Monitor market developments, competitor activity and investment across the UK and Irish power sectors.

    *

Take ownership of sales performance against agreed targets and identify opportunities to improve profitability.

    *

Maintain strong customer relationships throughout the sales cycle and support a smooth transition from contract award to project delivery.

    *

Keep up to date with developments in high-voltage switchgear technology, including SF₆-free alternatives and relevant industry regulations.

    *

Ensure all commercial activities are conducted in line with company policies and applicable business standards.

    Candidate Requirements

    Essential experience

    *

A proven background in sales or business development within high-voltage switchgear, electrical power equipment or a closely related industry.

    *

Experience selling technical solutions into the electricity transmission and distribution market.

    *

Established relationships with utilities, network operators, EPC contractors or major infrastructure customers.

    *

A track record of winning new business, developing accounts and delivering against commercial targets.

    *

Experience managing complex tenders, commercial proposals and framework agreements.

    *

The ability to understand technical specifications and translate customer requirements into commercially viable solutions.

    Skills and attributes

    *

Strong business development and relationship management skills.

    *

Commercially astute, with an understanding of project risks, margins and contract requirements.

    *

Confident communicating with technical stakeholders, procurement teams and senior decision-makers.

    *

A proactive approach to identifying opportunities and developing new customer relationships.

    *

Organised and capable of managing multiple opportunities and tender deadlines simultaneously.

    *

Willingness to travel within the UK and Ireland as required.

    The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will combine technical knowledge of high-voltage electrical equipment with the ability to build customer relationships, identify new opportunities and convert a strong project pipeline into secured orders. They will be comfortable operating independently while working closely with internal technical and commercial teams to deliver business growth
